    D-Max

Mate bought one new in 2014 and still has it now maybe 85-90k on it. He's on Cooper discoverers at3 I think and loves it. Says he always gets a good mpg from his. I've just bought a 68 plate that's done quite a few miles up and down motorway. Clean as owt underneath! Really need to get it waxoil! There were 2 other motors I looked at 2019. One a fence contractors and one a farmers. Both rusty. I think maybe if folk treated their motors when new with waxoil and did each year maybe rust issues may not be as bad?

I'm about to dip my toe with a dmax soon. Not many clean 2.5 about but plenty of 1.9s for sale
  4. What sort of gap though? As was thinking surely the buggers can just get their heads through?
  5. Surely you could just weld some 16mm solid bar in between the tines half way down maybe just for support. That's what I'd do
  6. Just after some advice and info about deer fencing around trees. We have some 3.5-4m trees to plant and they need deer and rabbit fencing around. I was thinking once posts knocked in approx 6' tall 4 posts and then bars across to each and maybe some chicken wire at the base and dug into the sod. Don't know if that's over kill but I feel it's going to take some time and materials! Not looking forwards to this part so asking if anyone knows of other methods or something I may have missed out? Thanks
  7. Someone posted up on the fb arbtalk a few weeks back k how they had snapped a tine off one of the intermecato grabs and posted a pic. A few other folk saying they're made out of cheese now and quality gone down.... I suppose with anything. They can break and bend etc
  8. Twas that piece of shit stop bar switch for me when mine stopped working.... they let water in and corrode like no one's business.... this means no power to the fwd button to allow rollers to work . Glad I don't own one now
  9. Also from recollection I believe these tanks have a brass bush pressed into the bottom of the plastic tank... then a banjo bolt there. I can t just remember but I tjinknit was graham at fawcett plant that said these brass bushes could cone loose and give issues or maybe rhe banjo blocking.... been a while since I ran one. Last jensen I had, I did away with using the lift pump and fitted a 12v fuel pump in fairness
  10. Ohh I have πŸ˜‚ horrendous they are. Think these spikes were 200 quid ish new πŸ˜‚ Now they are 4-600 quid. I'd only change mine due to being non replaceable gaff I think they are. Just wondered if twisted are more comfortable
  11. Winched over a road side Ash tree with die back earlier in the week.... some back lean to the road and a heavy ish side lean / weight. What a bloody wet field / pond it was. Standing water in the field... what a splash it made when it hit the deck! Pissed it down all day leaving me questioning, why do I always get these jobs and have to do at the wrong time of year? πŸ˜‚
  12. Evening all, it may well be new spikes time soon. I've used bashlin steel spikes for years, velcro upper and leather lower. Anyhow the pads are splitting etc. Had a look online and looking near enough 200 quid for new pads :0 I do like these bashlins the main point being, I use short gaffs and on these the bottom of the gaff is near enough level with the base of your foot. A couple of years back I treat myself to new diesel geko alloy...... problem being that short gaffs were like 1 1/2-2" up from your bloody base of your foot.... felt really weird and not for me. I was wondering if the twisted bashlins are an improvement on the straights? And what do they actually do? Twist to your knee or what? And before I dive in, is there any other spikes to look at consideringni want the short gaff near enough level with base of my foot! Cheers
  13. Love these situations. You can never usually get a straight answer from anyone nowadays. Even those in the know do not like to give you the specific information you need specific to your situation. All I hear about felling licenses is everyone says it takes ages to sort. And it's shite how utilities, power and other folk can do what the hell they want without having to go down these routes
  14. Not been much tractor love on here for a while.... what's folk been up to?
  15. Give them a ring. It's only a phone call
  16. I only tipped mine over once in years..... easiest place to get wheels is vermeer.... never for sale 2nd hand. I bought mine new from vermeer years ago about 400 quid.
  17. I'm sure when I ran an older deere 3040 them hydraulics used to pulse for whatever reason. Sure someone said it was to do with the closed system they run? About all I can say or comment
  18. Pooftas I'd have to break the tyre leavers out then. Only like 33 quid a tyre but as always upgrade where you can. Will have a ponder then πŸ˜€
  19. Nah, I don't have to put chipper on there.... I have a gh1054 but I'm mighty impressed woth the little trailer. It can carry 1.5t and going volume I can fill it with mesh sides 3/4 full and still be ok πŸ‘ Pretty happy with that for logs and it's a good partner for behind ranger. When you go 10x5 only 2' longer you were another 1k extra.... 12x6 1200 extra all for old battered trailers. This is a good looking little thing. Hopefully some else doesn't think the same and relieve me of it lol 😞
  20. Afternoon all. Just bought a nice little ifor lt85 trailer brilliant little thing. Only a 2000kg gross. From what I can see they are the same everything, maybe slightly smaller brakes and different sized wheels from the lm version which is 2700kg. It has some poncy little 145 r10 tyres on. 3 of which are cracked between treads. Don't get me wrong I think this size of ture is probs OK but just checking with folk if they've run them? They any good? My mate said to swap them out with new rims and fit 195 r10 or up to the 13" wheels. Ideally I would have liked to put my safe track on this trailer if needed and if suspension same as the lm trailer the wheel upgrade would help me carry that weight (1800kg) Just seems like now is the time to decide. Any ideas folks?
  21. Looks ace! I have some tree planting and deer cages to build around them in December. Taking the digger to dig holes but have to take tractor with farmers post knocker for the posts, would have been great just all 1 machine
  22. I don't need one either tbh.... come April before tax return maybe πŸ˜† I'm still using a 2012 201tcm daily and a 2016 One thing I was glad of with the 201 was it got shut of the 200t carb issues!
  23. I did spot the hole thing like you but wondered if he ment Arsehole but abbreviated? Either way I didn't want to say anything πŸ˜€
  24. That's shite then. I just thought they were made out of cheese and that put me off... I'm a stihl man tbh. I say a video recently.... can't remember if August hunicke or guilty of treeson..... but they were using a mk3 and it sounded absolute awesome! Thought to myself might have a punt at one of them! As always with these things, let some bugger else be the unfortunate ones first πŸ˜‰ find the flaws
  25. Christ almighty.... blast from the past. What a heavy pig that grinder was to push around πŸ˜† Going to save that picture
