  1. Husqvarna 350 is also a good saw
  2. Hi there, Some people don't seem to understand that people cannot afford new sometimes.... Is there any reason that you picked the 029 saw? These are not a pro user saw, and these are a clam shell engine. An 026 would be better choice, plenty of spares out there, pro saw and within your budget of second hand
  3. Such a shame Looked a nice job for you though, bet you had some fun
  4. You need to remove the exhaust to check that the piston is not damaged etc as this would happen if no 2 stroke was in the fuel as no lubrication. Some chainsaw owners out there will not use stihl 2 stroke oil, so colour may vary if other oil is used. I hope the saw is ok for you and you have just possibly flooded it etc
  5. Good job even if it was ages ago lol

So the little pumps you sometimes see on the saws next to the rear handle are for the user to pump extra oil into the system? even though it is an automatic oiler? cheers

    Bored Already?

Yes i'm bored Just waiting for the phone to ring In the meanwhile, i've split all my wood i have (bar a little bit which will need a proper splitter when i purchase one) for next year, and just going through a big list of odd's and sods i have to do, might aswell
  13. Haha i suffer from this too
  14. He's deffinetly in the husqvarna camp that lad
  15. Not tried a husky, but i own a 441, i'm very pleased with it, was looking at either the stihl 460 or the 441, i went for the 441 due to low vibrations, i've also used a 460 and that was a very good saw too, 460 is an old tried tested design, the 441 is newer technology. I'm happy with the 441, but some don't rate it against the 460. 20" bar on the 441 is a good match, bit of a wuss on the 25" bar
  16. Excellent thread!! Some great info in here.... just a bit of a long trawl it was as i've done all 43 pages at once lol keep the photo's and debates/comments coming!!
  17. should be an earth, live then nothing on the other wire till its switched over..... you can try joining the two lives together (manually switching the current instead of the switch) to see if it works....
  18. check to see if its getting power to the switch, trace it back, theyre a 3 pin switch arn't they? well mine was... it was lighting up on the led but then not switching the live over to feed the light
  19. recently sorted mine in my iveco, i checked the bulb, traced the wire through the dash, removing parts as i go..... it ended up being the switch in the end lol, use a multi meter and get stuck in
  20. 20 an hour? you want to come out with 120-160 a day and to cover your costs on top. 20 an hour on an 8 hour day does't cut it...
  21. Not at all patronising, its all things i have to think of over the new year, how to do it all better. Will be putting a little bit of money into fire wood next year, new decent tarps, proper planning, storage and processing. Roll on 2012
  22. What can you do when local companies are selling at between 30-40 quid a builders bag ey? i envy all you charging so much for wood, its worth it but people around here do not want to pay.....
  23. all it would have taken was for him to slip when pulling that branch out and a fall and flail of arms and horrible accident
  24. know your product, you should be able to tell if its hardwood or softwood
  25. any chance you can put the pics on here of the grease nipples? and glad the chippers sorted shame about having to fork out 260 quid just before christmas, but at least you know its on top of its game for the start of the new year
