    SRT Rescue

haha bro, that is dito me that is.
  4. maybe go and try and break some old and new gear?? obviously that ur not attach to or etc etc etc. that will help for sure mate. its made to be super strong, like most of people have said its the tree and people to worry about, as long as you respect your gear and take good care of it. You will be fine, try doing some big jumps that always fun too cheers MOG

    SRT Rescue

makes no difference bro, srt or double line. if you took up a second line, but as i said probs not too realistic for work purposes. thats was i suggested doing with your landyard instead. then once you lifted them up, could lower/attach onto your harness once he was was freed from his SRT. but you would only need to that if you were on SRT too. Cheers MOG

    SRT Rescue

yeah man exactly like that, thats a great vid. i would of just clip to him with landyard straight away. but thats a perfect rescue in my eyes. thought of another way you could do it last nite, i am sure someones else has thought/used it too. but work be very simple and pretty much no gear. 1.put prussik on your splice eye 2. clip pulley into prussik 3. attach landyard into pulley. 4. and then you use 2-1 attach to him and pull up, same effect but he would be on ur rope. Cheers MOG

    SRT Rescue

Nowthen, we just did a SRT rescue at the Victorian Comp in Ozzy. i think only 4 of us finished it, so its good that we are talking about it and doing as good practice. as it is so frequency used on a day to day basis. anyways the way i did in the comp, was pretty simple but dunno how realistic it would be in work sitiuation. as you need a second rope...... 1. Get anchor point 2. Go over to them 3. lanyard/attach to them. 4. put a 6 wrap prussik above them on the there line as high as you can reach 5. clip second rope into the prussik on a pulley 6. attach to them and just lift them ( 2-1 was very easy, just like yourself and can use ur pantin for more if needed but i found it very easy) 7.unclip there ascenders/ backup prussik 8. lower to ground, Jobs a good un. You could also do this by just setting a line on a safe anchor near by and doing the same thing, just remember to the bring the hitch system with you when you do it. i like this system as you are both on different anchor points and climbing systems. try that works very well and simple, and is actually good fun. but yeah i try and do a vid too Cheers MOG
  9. be carefully single line as its not rated for that, M- rig mmm i reckon that would put in a nasty angle when weighted? thats good tho man, its always good to mess around with ideas and show them, as many brains are better than one and one idea leads to the next. Keep it up guys:) HitchClimber all the way;p Cheers MOG
  10. 9mm beeline all the way, its the one with yellow flick in it. its very cheap so can replace it regularly which is gd. and works like a charm. used to use OP and changed to BL HC setup of course. cheers MOG
  11. man that hollow braid is a sick idea, very very cool. and pretty simple ay, gd work bristow and of course the God Father:)
  12. lol dunno if this is just me, but you defo dont use two hands to walk out on a limb that is just scary. i think the best thing would be to watch a tree climbing video and watch how guys walk out on a limb. it all comes down to the Hitch, this is what is causing your problem mate. Cheers MOG
  13. Once you get the Ultra O's it be lot smoother setup, but you really need a splice too to get the best effect with HC. As knots can hold you hitch open sometimes and just too bulky. Need a stopper knot on end of that bowline bro.....Fishermans is a way better/safer knot, to use for that termination. @Rob ARB. Should always have the pulley facing away from you, as it doesnt do it's Job otherwise. so the rope runs against the pulley and free out the back. Cheers MOG
  14. thats it! these hitches and hitchclimbers are ready to climb on. And they belong to some of the best tree climbers in the World. Cheers MOG
  15. this is kinda true, but maybe its better?? atleast if you have a a piece of equipment be cool to know how to use it properly. then atleast you can make up your own mind ay. Good Luck, Cheers MOG /Users/matthewglen/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters/2011/08/06/20110806-200112/DSCN0963.JPG
  16. amazing and so true!

  18. gone from stretch Airs to Hi-flex and what a move, way more movement in hi-flex, especially lifting your leg up. but the stretch airs are warmer for winter. i use type A tho. But there is no harm in trying a, personal preference and all. Cheers MOG
  19. lol 6 days to remove that tree is abit of a joke;p the boss/climber in vid. was supppose to get me in Contracted in on that job but deicided to come outta of office and do it himself. and i reckon " Bloodly Gd on Ya!" as the ozzies would say. Great be able to show the boys that you can can do it and get the proper respect. as too many bosses just still behind desk/ steering wheels and barking orders but with no come back. or any actually useful input or knowledge Shot Trevy D, not too bad. whats with the one chain? Cheers MOG

    MS201 Review

Hows it, So this is a basic review for the Sthil MS201. i run it with a 14inch bar. i been using this Climbing saw for a month now. i find it slightly heavier than, the MS200 and it needs a e-lite bar on it to give it a better balance point. The saws feels alot more torquey than the MS200 but as to the power difference i cant really notice too much difference. we did a cutting race on same size log and the MS201 was slightly faster than the MS200 and both had reasonably new chains on. as we know this could be due to the user but anyways it very similar. the MS201 is pretty quite and but you dont have the option to remove the spark arrester. as the exhaust unit is fully inclosed. it is very efficient on fuel, actually very surprising that fact. can do loads of work with out having to send down and refuel. they is noticeably less vibration in the saw. the Air filter has never needed cleaning which is crazy! i think i have tapped it out twice. and very little to nothing has come out of it. But once i was climbing around i did have the Air filter unit protector (orange Part) drop off whilst climbing around. this could be due to my bad climbing skills or just unlucky, but never happened to all the other MS200 over the years i been using them. i really like the Nut/bolt feature on the bar side part. as it is built in, so this stops you from losing it in the long grass etc. To stop yabbing on, i think it is a really great saw and if you are in the game for buying a new saw i would defo recommend the upgrade to the newer version. it does cost a little more, but over the time i reckon it pays for it in better fuel economy. But there all in all it not like a totally new saw and new wow facter. Hope that helps in anyway it can. Cheers MOG
  23. velocity is the one for spiderjacks, i used to use tachyon and then changed to velocity. better move for sure, moves way easier through the jack. but you need to where gloves too, to get the best effect for both rope and jack. Cheers MOG
  24. that is one of the saddest vid's i have seen, was such a shame to see that be removed. the wood looked solid as. maybe weight reduction all over and a barrier round the drip line would of been abit more appropriate. such a shame man, it looked so sound. as for traniers mmmm i dunno about that word some them. some really basic stuff lacking, ear/eye and head protection missing and shock loading cranes. i dont think we need to go there. but as this vid for a training tool i think is great. and by reading the comments i can see there is alot of GOOD knowledge out there in the uk scene. Keep up the good work guys. Cheers MOG
  25. yeah bro its weird thing over there, i think its called tree work or something, like that anyways maybe arboriculture Hope u had gd time at NZ nats, was gutted i wasnt there. Chur MOG
