  1. If you ever need a climbing buddy dude, be more than keen to climb some big trees. there is just some thing magnificent about them and feels like you are in a whole other world. Biggest i done if 91m Dead Mountain ash, was bit eery to be honest. As the whole forrest is burnt out and no birds, no rustling of leaves, just the wind blowing through. and 81m Karri tree which was alive and in very good health. Cheer Matt Glen
  2. Cheers Guys, @ deerman, yeah bro it was a Henessey Hammock. I never camp anymore:)

Gd gd bro, very true statement. Just put another wrap on first and try that before getting another prussik length might work out sweet ay. MOG
  4. dito and dito, not having a go bro. just saying the tails are way to short. just have it same as your climbing line fishermens and be safer for sure. Cheers for sharing the Pic. you Could also use a adjustable Brigde or O-rig system and that will do the same thing as what you are doing. But more effective and neater i reckon. Check it out in other threads, but first fix thoses tails:biggrin:, they do get sucked in with big loads man, and thats the last thing you want happening. Climb safe dude and enjoy

  6. check out the red tails....your keen bro, if that goes your whole system will drop you out of the tree ay. Really need to change that man, very important ASAP!! MOG

Hey ross, yeah think scott is having you on mate, thats defo no true. x3 is perfect and the rule i work with. Even better is a splice tho! also changes how a hitch works, i reckon it helps with self tending as holds more in a upright position.
  8. very very cool idea, guys would be awsome

  11. i use this On tachyon 11.5mm

hey Rupe, This is what i use anyways, think maybe i tie it backwards then. i do that with all knots. you can adjust the speed and of how it bites by adjusting the lower half hitch, higher for more bite and lower down for quicker and better self tending. the thinner you rope the better the self tending but slips alittle more with this amount of wraps on. add one more for 11mm or put the half hitch tight too the wraps. Hope this helps. Cheers MOG
  13. Hey man, the smaller diameter rope u have the better it self tends. i.e 11mm Blaze with 8mm Ocean Poly. but i use 10mm OP on 11.5mm Tachyon and it works minter with the Knut. Find 8mm burns my fingers/hands too much. Theres a vid of it in use under (frictionhitchery) it was working OK there but usually works better, especially if new hitch Cord. MOG

Hey man, Nar thats the length with nothing tied in it. sure you will man, just keep climbing and enjoying it and it will come. especially if your into the comps etc. Just start with one 1.40m and tie it up and you should be sweet. @ ross haha 10 times, Breaking the Law Breaking the Law!! x3 diameter is fine.

Knut 10mm OP 1.35m 3 and half wraps, works mint on 11.5mm line. Cow hitch is wicked too!

@ Ben! my hitch is 10mm Ocean Poly, with good tails atleast x3 diameter of rope. and end to end is 1.35m, works nicely but depends on what size u run of course too. @ adam! Work can be pretty similar obviously lots more euc's which i like climbing. and More climbing in general i reckon. it more of how you work for i think tho mate, i am going contracting so will be climbing even more. which at this stage in my career is what i want. If you are thinking of moving over i could point you in the right direction of good companies etc and starting wages roughly. just email me if ur keen. Thanks again for the good comments, off to Darwin now for The Ozzy Nat's. will be a great comp and very high standard there is a few top wildcards too. hopefully get some more footage, c how i go beer depending haha.

Cheers Guys was great climbing that tree, Will be putting Scott forrest climb up with a different camera angle again. @hamadryad yeah the Knut doesnt twist my rope at all dude, very gd hitch. But you have to get the right type of rope and hitch to get it working well, best is to try different sizes/lengths/wraps/type of hitch cord on the rope you use then, you will know whats works best. @ross smith, yeah i know u got to speed up the vid to look cool man haha. All gd here dude, enjoying doing some big tree climbing and going subby for Grant Cody in couple wks so its gd. Do miss NZ tho tbh. Hope life is gd back home man. @BEN i think its 1.3m 10mm occean Poly but i check tomz for you and get exact size. also think 8mm tends better but burns my hands more so chop and change sometimes. i am getting some 8mm OP think 85cm splice so see how those go and yet you know if you want.

  21. Shame Youtube lowers the quality of the vid but spiderjack is not the be all! i climbed on one for 6 months then went back to Hitch, after seeing Joe's awsome vid i thought i give it another go! but just wasnt into it ay, too mechanical for me. Anyway heres a vid without it.[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx4LsoXITms]YouTube - ‪FrictionHitchery‬‏[/ame] Cheers MOG
  22. No spiders or snakes the whole trip, i think its a load of.... you see a few spiders at work but there not too bad anyway, as i hate spiders thought it be bad. but as soon as you see them they are gone, so pretty sweet. Was no project mate, just for fun:) haha mateing in a hammock, you have to be keen! But you would need a hot FEMALE tree climber first;p
  23. Hey, this is a short vid i made the other day, thought it might be some a quick look. Me and Scott Forrest went travelling in Western Perth for a week. Climbing massive trees and hammocking in them. Will be another vid of another cool Tree Experiance coming soon. If this link doesnt work, you can check it Out on Treetools | tree climbing, rigging, pruning and safety equipment and look under the blog. 24. I use a swivel on harness and can use mine left or right But i like to use the left hand for those special jobs:blushing: hey man, yeah i have tried that also. Found it creates too much drag..... if you know what i mean? when you want to go flat out on a swing somewhere. haha gd that the swivel helps and the left hand:001_tt2: but it will still be in the same place no?. but i meant when using ur left hand it's not as easy as a hitch. Dont get me wrong it's a amazing peice of equipment, very clever and works sweet. i use Blaze 11mm on mine but only after 3weeks started to creep and was new clutch. how long does and clutch last u guys? but gonna tuck on my tachyon now to last it out bit longer.
