  12. Great post Adam. These's are just some of the top ten tips i teach, when i am showing/training someone. ( not in order as such) 1. Gloves 2. knots and hitches tie properly if unsure retie or get shown 3. Know your limits, gear and your groundies i.e experience...... 4. Proper gear for the job in hand! 5. Know where the piece is going/ direction of swing etc 6. stand well away for area if possible/escape plan 7. What is the worst case scenario i.e piece coming back towards you, house, groundie etc etc. 8. Wear the Job is (location) (location) Location! 9. First Aid kit/ Phones etc 10. Some body able to (rescue) you. i use this term lightly as most of the jobs i do, unfortaley this is not possible. too all you contract climbers out there you Know. back to the point of knowing your limits and crews..... i think if you/team can achieve 90%ish of that list you are doing very well, and is a good basic guide. Cheers Mog

  17. i think there is more to this rescue thing, if it wears out in one climb. you say you had two peoples weight on a single descent on a hitch? with no back up(figure 8 etc)? or am i getting the wrong end of the stick here. i climb on bee line and it wouldnt wear out in one climb thats for sure. mog

  24. hey, so yeah i dont know much what exactly happened. looks to me like his rope got caught on top of the log. and that dragged him down, guessing his hitch slid with it. i think we can all learn alot from this. good on him for sharing it, and to show that its not due to inexperience but accidents happen and do. as its all well had good to point out bits and bobs that we all do wrong. its human nature, how many close calls have you had...... climb safe guys/girls and hope you all learn something from this. thanks again shaun and hes to fast recovery and getting back into the trees. mog
  25. shaun hardman, the man. one of the best tree vids i have seen. he had a bad accident also, my thoughts are with you mate and best of recovery to you. a crazy contrast between the two. Pine Fall - YouTube Mog
