  1. just jumping in here! Can i ask for those of you that have worked/ do work/ own a company in Norway what in your opinion is the average pay? I know it always depends on the climber and company etc but just an average ball park figure for a competent climber with his own kit, employed, working full time. I'd be really interested to know just to compare what i earn to other peoples experiences. Cheers
  2. Anybody used the "Teufelberger Antishock Tool Lanyard" ? thinking of getting one but just wanted to see what other peoples experiences with it were like?
  3. Great thanks for all your help, I looked at the employment thread on here and found his advertisement. I have dropped him an e-mail. Seems to be exactly what i'm looking for so hopefully the vacancy is still open. Any other suggestions are still welcome... cheers all
  4. Hi all, need a little pointer in right direction if possible. I'm in Norway now working and lets just say that my employer might of slightly exaggerated how much tree work he gets which as you can imagine is slightly frustrating when i've flown here with all my climbing kit and i'm cutting grass.... does anybody know of or have any experience with any companies over here in Bergen or Oslo? we're heading to one of these cities next, which one will depend on work. I've obviously done the standard google search but i'm just interested to see if anybody on here can help me. Cheers
  5. Hi all, I'm from the UK and have spent the last year in Australia. I'll be leaving oz and landing in Auckland Wednesday morning. I need to start work ASAP. I'm an intermediate climber (3 years experience) and have own my climbing kit, PPE etc with me. To be honest oz has really taken it's toll on my finances so I'd be prepared to ground for a company as long as i could start straight away and if it led to climbing again in the future. Anybody know of any contacts, companies etc that could help me? Cheers

    work abroad

Hello all, I’ve been recommended to come on here and ask for your help as I have been told there is a fountain of knowledge between all the members on this site. I am DESPERATLY trying to get a tree surgery job abroad!! I have been working within the industry for just over 3 years now since leaving the army (almost 2 grounding and 1 climbing); I have all the relevant NPTC qualifications as I attended the 10 week course at Merriswood in 2009. I have been told that Sweden is an exciting place to work but all of the vacancy adverts advertise for "experienced climbers". Although i am not (what my old boss would call ) a "tea boy" anymore i would not class myself as an experienced climber as yet. I have a high work ethic, good references, common sense and I am keen to listen and learn everything I possibly can to improve. I’d be very grateful if anybody knew of a company that would consider someone like me or just point me in the right direction.
