  1. I've installed some mesh inside the outer casing (where they have cut-outs for the GM logo) where the air is drawn in. We can see when these are getting clogged and clean the crud off before there's an issue. The inner screen only needs a brush down on the weekly check. Never clogged and overheated.
  2. Lots of great input here, so here's my bit. I love mine - but we pretty well always take the transit unless we are in a 'muddy' area. If we need it for winching we take both. I've replaced loads of bits on mine (usually as planned maintenance rather than failure repair) . I think the question you must ask yourself AND ANSWER HONESTLY is.. Do I NEED one? not do I WANT one? Only YOU can answer that
  3. Absolutely brilliant machine, had mine over 3 years with no problems. I would personally never go back to TW. Can't speak for other makes.
  4. I guess there must be a joke about wood here somewhere.
  5. Nice rummaging there Pat - that could be a pedal powered arb trolley. Was that from Ford by any chance?
  6. You lot are the sort of people who end up with Omelettes! Big end up, I say!
  7. Just imagine if some of the extremists are pointy-enders and other factions are thick-enders! This thread could be the start of World War 3 I'll be fighting with the 'thick end up' activists.
  8. Cerebral overload - I've always had my chukkies big end up cos you can get bigger soldiers in there. But now I'm worried that I'm a wierdo who has been doing it wrong. Aaaargh - i'm going to take my egg to my Stihl dealer so he can SHOW me how to do it. No more eggs through the post and wrong usage from me!
  9. I thought it looked tall for a hornbeam.
  10. Treequip - is yours the Industrial version or the Trade version? Littlerob - have you used the Hailo much? - it seems a lot cheaper than the Zarges. I'm most interested as both my ladders will need replacing soon.
  11. Theres a man who thinks outside the box - I like it:lol::lol:
  12. If the sides are steel, combined with the hiab you'll have a very small payload. You need to decide how much you need a crane vs big drop in payload. Like many things in our industry its WANT against NEED really.
  13. I'd do it for free - just for the meat! No need for harness or ropes either, just a wobbly ladder.
  14. Sounds good but what if Mr Ferrett sees me in there - I'd never live it down.
  15. Thats a beast of a chipper. What were all those kennels for on the pallet racking?
  16. Very good. I must admit when I read the thread heading I was wondering what sort of photo would be attached.
  17. Not as good as the Husqvarna ones and they will not post them:lol::lol:
  18. I didn't say I was bothered about him doing it, I thought it was quite funny. He was like a cartoon character in a 'how not to do it' video. I left with a smile on my face and he looked happy enough too. I just hope he don't hurt himself.
  19. Round here he'd have to be an extremely good man to earn that as a chainsaw operative.
  20. I was called to price up the removal and stump grinding of a pittosporum today by an existing customer. Went round and figured small quotes for removal/grinding as she is already a customer and does a lot of work for the same place we do discounted rates. She said she has a 'friend' with a chainsaw who can cut it down but would I do the stump for the agreed price if the 'friend' cut the pitto down. I dropped by on the way home and the friend was there already. He was wearing a pair of trainers, a pair of shorts, and a pair of glasses and was swinging a McCulloch petrol saw about. I guess he must have been 60+ I had to laugh, I stopped and congratulated him on his lightweight PPE and went on my way. It was funny seeing him loading it all onto his 4ft x 3ft Erde trailer.:lol::lol::lol: I had only heard about these people on here but now I've seen one.
  21. Absolutely anything off ebay where the seller says 'It used to run so it should be an easy fix'
  22. No criticism intended - people who are trying and have a history of work behind them are fine. I do sympathise with the youngsters to some extent (in fact a while back we housed someone for free for over a year till he found a job so I'm not a complete barsteward. Good luck .
  23. Maybe Spud or one of the other tecchies can advise. Good luck
  24. If you don't want it and you can get a fair price it's worth selling. How much are they new? How much would you want for it? Put it up on arbtrader maybe?
