  1. Yeah I know its got good reviews so that was my first option. Do you know of any jackets with a hood?
  2. I'm looking to get a waterproof jacket now the weather is going down Hill and wandered what you guys recommend? I know a lot of you rate the cut and climb but does it come with a hood as well?
  3. I'm looking to buy some treated Larch waney edge timber for my shed build. Does anyone know anywhere in the Hampshire area I can get some?
  4. I'm thinking of milling some wood for a workbench to go in my shed. And have a lump of poplar (not sure which species exactly) and some Norway spruce which would you use for a bench? The bench will just be used for general workshop tasks sharpening/fixing saws etc etc..
  5. Ok thanks for the information!
  6. Ok cheers guys, How deep do you reckon i should put the threaded bar into the brickwork? I'm using bricks not cement blocks if that is any help. Would just into the first course be alright?
  7. Cheers for the help, I think this is the best way to go I reckon as I can just buy a length of bar and some grip fill and then I can basically go from there! I take it you just tighten up a nut to the sole plate afterwards then?
  8. Just seen this thread, and that is a quality piece of work. Out of interest how did the client dry the timber and do you think it will be stable enough when it goes indoors? (heat changes)
  9. What long reach hedge cutters are you using Mr Git?
  10. Had a bad day yesterday one of the honda mowers fell off the back of our truck (when stationary obviously!) It seems to have buckled the rear right hand side wheel, had a look on lings and they are £116 each!!! anyone know where else i could get one a bit cheeper?
  11. Chemical anchor?
  12. I plan on using a sole plate just not directly under the oak posts at the corners as otherwise from the front you will be able to see the actual sole plate which won't look right. (If you see what i mean!)
  13. I am in the process of building a new garden shed and have built a dwarf wall and now want to use some oak posts I have milled to use as uprights but i'm not sure how to attach them or the frame work to the wall. So thought i'd post o here to see if anyone had any words of wisdom! Cheers!
  14. Awesome pics!
  15. Ok cheers guys will give them a call, they have an online quote thing as well has anyone used that before?
  16. Hi guys, my insurance is up for renewal again, and its now gone up in price. So i'm looking elsewhere for quotes. I do mainly garden maintenance (mowing etc), hedge cutting and the odd bit of landscaping but I also want to be insured for small tree work including felling as well. I know of trust insurance and arborisk but will they cover me for both aspects of my business? I obviously don't want to pay out for 2 sets of public and employers liability insurance, i'd like one insurance company to cover the lot. Can anyone recommend me a company to look into? Cheers, James.
  17. Whats the piece of kit your using in picture three silky?

    Stihl 4mix

Cheers for the opinions guys, i'm leaning towards the fs94rc e because of the handle position has anyone used one before and whats the new ecospeed thing?

    Stihl 4mix

Cheers sounds like an idea, and just pop the hedge cutter head on in place of the strimmer head. Whats the difference between the fs70 and fs94? they are both two stroke by the looks of things.

    Stihl 4mix

Cheers what are you using instead then?

    Stihl 4mix

I heard a lot of bad things about stihl 4mix engines but that was a while ago, and i wandered if they are still that bad? I need a new long handle hedge cutter and was going to go for a HL95 which is a 4mix so wanted to do a bit of research before i buy! Cheers guys!
  22. I've got a pretty new ms660 and noticed that when i use the decompression valve when it pops back out again sometimes i get a little puff of grey smoke is this usual? The saw was very hot at the time and i don't notice it when its cold. Is this something to worry about or not bother?

    Stihl hl95

I need a new long reach hedge cutter and was thinking of getting a hl95 (I already have one) But with a few issues with stihl 4mix is there another alternative? I have used stihl for years and tbh am reluctant to change brand as parts are easy to get hold of and i have lots of spares i can use form my old machines. So what do you guys think? Any advice/experience is always helpful on here!
  24. I had a 21" Lawnflite pro, yes it was good in the wet much better than a honda pro. I think they have a plastic fan under the deck which helps throw the grass into the box well. However, in the end we had so much problems with the gearbox (only had it for 2 years!) we went back to using hondas. I've still got the lawnflite somewhere! Apart from that i liked them!
  25. Haha cheers thought i was the only one who thought that way. that's part the reason i went for a 660 before the 661 came out because of its all new electronic carb etc! I'll get a 30" for it when funds allow then, the 36" is a bit nose heavy, which i don't like tbh.
