  1. This is quite pricey, but they are built really well and big enough to fit krabs, pulleys, friction cord etc...... Sherrill Wingman storage pouch | climbing | storage-bags | Gustharts It can also be hooked on your saddle so you can cart a camera around the tree for a Climbing inspection or your bacci for when your groundy is faffing about! Hope this helps
  2. Tree Geek where are you based? Could be a plan! KerryL I'm only down the road in Winchester, so if your still keen even though your hitting up tony darbyshires thing let us know, and we'll figure something out.
  3. Yaright there KerryL where are you based? I'd be keen to pop out for a rec climb and I'm sure I can convince another two climbers I know to tag along. (Plenty of gear between us and loads of different climbing set ups). Pretty sure the one of the arbor venture guys lives down the street from me as I pass his little wagon every morning!
  4. Keep us updated daddyola50. Im well keen to hear how you get on with it in the next couple of weeks. Also I am disgustingly jealous!
  5. Haha nah nothing like that! Just fancied the green and blue tachyon is all. Cheers for the honesty about the overall cost, I hadn't really considered it like that. How about you PM me a price to do it and ill have a think about it this week and let you know? Oh and the rope will be new if I do decide to go for it. And to tommy B it's gonna be a ridgeback so fancied something a bit meatier. Reckon 8mm will be like cheese wire if it goes some!
  6. Tidy! bet that took hours ey?
  7. Sweet! I'm not looking for anything special just a tight eye one end to fit an accesory beaner through and a large eye the other for the handle. I reckon 2m finished article ought to do the trick. How much cord would I need to ship to you?
  8. Hey guys! Just wondering if any of you splicing fiends would be willing to splice me a dog lead out of some 13mm tachyon. I'd pay of course! Let me know if any of you fancy the challenge and ill post the specifics. Cheers guys
  9. Ooooooh that's where it got to! Iv been looking all over for that. You may as well just post it back to me and we'll say no more about it........eh?
  10. That hadn't occurred to me Dan! Definitely gonna try that next time I need to advance into the thinner stuff.
  11. Hi there Adam! The tethers are looking sweet, good work man. Any closer to unveiling the custom tether surprise? Dunno if I should order one now or wait for the mk2?
  12. Sorry dude, getting carried away. PSP = primary suspension point. I'd have to see the tree to know exactly how you could get around it. A big shot could be the answer to your problems. It'll get your throwline miles up and is real accurate (depending on the user). My last resort would be to DdRT it to the top and re-attach your wrench once your tied in. Hope that's of some use.
  13. I'd suggest getting your throwline to your top anchor from the ground if you want to base tie. But keep in mind the forces exerted on you PSP when using a base tie. If your concerned the PSP you need won't cope with a base tie, then isolate your TIP and choker your line to it! And if you want to retrieve your line from the ground attach a throwline to the bowline/anchor ring so you can pull it back down when your done.
  14. Id recommend Gshock, like a lot of the other boys. Iv got one that iv been wearing for 3 years. Face is almost untouched, the plastic strap is still going strong and it only cost around 80. I don't really find that it gets in the way/snags on anything.
  15. At the moment iv got: 1 sling, 2 beaners, an anchor ring, isc swingcheek pulley, grillon, first aid kit and rescue knife. The hand ascender and footloop only tends to come out for big old ascents. Anyone fancy a little show as well as tell? I'll post a photo of mine tomorrow.
  16. I'm using distel geckos with Velcro tops and strap bottoms. I really like them, they're light, comfortable and you can replace all the bits and bobs if you ever need to. I reckon I may stretch to a decent set of bashlins when these have had their day though.
  17. I believe it's to help keep the cam under pressure and therefore stop it from inverting. Could be wrong though. However I do know that without it the grab would fail its LOLER, be it pre-climb, weekly or 6 month inspection. Sould be able to pick one up from gustharts for £3.50.
  18. Try searching "Ontario climber" and check out his channel. He has a bunch of vids with him using both the zk1 and zk2 at work.
  19. yeh i use a re-threaded figure eight to retain as much of the mbs of the lines as possible, whilst backing them up with double fishermans just above the grigri.
  20. this is what im using the majority of the time..... i'll sometimes tie two lines together to give me extra lowering ability for anything gurt!
  21. like the look of the rigging plate to tidy things up. ill take some photos of various setups iv been using and share them tomorrow!
  22. that looks smart! and i like the way it could be choked anywhere in the crown. Definitely gonna give that a whirl tomorrow! cheers for the vids Ian.
  23. Iv been using my wrench for a couple of months now and can't imagine working without it now! I recommend investing in a big shot! It'll get you your top PSP on almost anything. Just make sure you get your groundies to bounce on the line before you go up to ensure the anchor is solid. I aslo tend to base tie for pruning. I'm a big fan of not having to isolate your TIP especially when it's only a quick job. You can always connect two lines together if yours isn't long enough to get a base tie. And I like an isolated tip for takedowns. Check out youtube for different methods. I found a ridiculous amount of techniques on there, to sample. Also whats the johnson redirect? Is it similar to sirnick2's post "long arm redirect" in the srt forum? Cheers
  24. I think this has got you covered. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrLfpfdfsSo]Time Lapse with iMovie (HOW TO) - YouTube[/ame] iv not done a time lapse with my go pro yet so keep us posted as to how you get on.
