  1. Anyone seen/heard anything from petzl yet? I'm still waiting to see what the verdict is in their July safety update

    Sticky Biner

Iv had the exact same problem with two of my dmm ovals. I fixed one by repeatedly snapping the gate from fully open (which I assume just rattled the scrot out). I had to retire the other one as nothing seemed to work. My conclusion is, it's probably more cost effective for me to buy a replacement and have peace of mind rather than spend over an hour trying to revive a biner that's worth £15. Each to their own though.
  3. Has anyone tried the pro light and the pro? Im looking at getting a couple for my saws but cant decide which to go for. Any experience/knowledge would be sweet. cheers
  4. Sweet cheers for help peter! How does it compare to splicing yale silverstreak? Iv just spliced some of that and got on alright with it......just needed one heck of a pounding to get the final bury sorted.
  5. Trying my hand at splicing and thought I'd give yale blaze a go. But I was wondering what type of splice I should be using. Any help would be amazing.
  6. Christmas hound waiting on the roast!
  7. Iv recently moved from a grillon to a ART swivel positioner, and I really like it! Takes 11-13mm lines, cams are cheap to replace and you can even chuck it on a flipline if the mood takes you. Go grab one!
  8. Could you post a couple of photos showing the bar and the saw apart, then on with no side casing, on with side casing?
  9. I use either a hand ascender with footloop and pantin combo for long old ascents. but once I'm in the tree i stick to just my foot ascender/scaffold of the crown. I like this combo cos it's like using a ladder to get up there and all the strain is on the legs Iv never had the chance to try the rope rocket system and I'm getting on good with mine so I will wait until I find someone with it to try it out.
  10. Get yourself a t540, iv not had mine long but its been brilliant so far. (Replacing a 200t)
  11. Hahahaha:lol: iv had that on there about two months now! Used to have a nice e2e of AP on there. But couldn't find anywhere that sold them anymore when the time came to replace it.
  12. Iv been using this setup for a little while now. I fancy changing back to the hitch climber pulley though.
  13. Finally got round to buying a 540 last week. Ruddy love it already! Changed up my chain for a 91vxl, as suggested, and it's a beaut! Anyone know of a good spares website for them, for when I inevitably break something on it? I can't seem to find anywhere that is supplying parts other than my local dealer. Also I was wondering if anyone has tried the flip up caps off the new 560 for fit?
  14. I keep mine in my sip progress phone pocket. Not broken a phone yet.
  15. Sweet! There's a bunch of stuff in there I hadn't considered! Cheers for the help
  16. Nah anything is helpful bud! Cheers man
  17. Sucks man! Any news on those serial numbers and I'll keep an eye out?
  18. Hi there guys! Going to view an '08 441 and a '03 ms 660 tomorrow to buy and was wondering if any of you guys had any pointers on what to look out for? Especially regarding saws of this year/age. Any help would be sweet, cheers
  19. I climb both but I use SRTWP for anything that I have to use a throwline for as it usually means it's going to be large and it means I don't have to isolate my anchor. I use ddrt for anything small enough to efficiently climb from the bottom. Hope this is helpful
  20. I'm keen on getting one. It's gonna be a little while before they go into production though isn't it?

    Stihl chain oil

It's mineral, the synth plus stuff and Nah we've had it about 2 weeks from a local dealer. Probably head in there in the morning. Cheers dude
  22. Hey guys! I just got to the end of a 5l tub of stihl chain oil and noticed there was a bunch of black sediment. Not small and granular, more like black flakes. Anyone else come across this sort of thing? Is it gonna run riot with my saws? gonna strain it out this time, but wondering if I should just go back to oregon? Any opinions/knowledge would be sweet! Cheers

    Ms261 problem

Hi guys was just wondering if anyone could help me with a 261. We were using it to ring up a small oak. The operator said it felt pretty hot before they turned it off. When they went to re-start it, nothing happened. Iv checked and changed the plug, iv also replaced the coil and ht and still no life. Iv had a look at the kill switch cables and connectors and they all seem fine. When you pull it over you can smell the gas getting to the cylinder when the plug is out. I'm beginning to run out of ideas and would really appreciate any pointers! Cheers
  24. We are based in the Winchester/Eastleigh/Fareham area and have logs building up every week. Both hardwood and softwood. What I'm hoping to find is someone who is keen to collect from site. If you are interested just PM me your details and I'll be in touch ASAP.
  25. As hard as it may be to hear, I believe Steve Bullman has hit the nail on the head.
