  1. @Nepia - Jon, where have you found Aspen locally? I went to Honey Bros yesterday and despite being named on the Aspen site it's not something they stock?
  2. As agg221 has stated it will sell on eBay but don't expect big money. I was looking for one recently for someone and you can pick them up from £50 to £500, one's in A1 condition go for more clearly but your location drives a massive part of the price. Have a look at the completed listings on eBay and you can see what they are making, I'd say most go for between £50 and £250.
  3. I'm divided on this one. Whilst I love the fact the Otters are being introduced I can't help think it will be only a decade or so before they are gone again. Otters are massive predators, right now they are surviving on artificial fish stocks, these stocks having been paid for and in most cases cherished by fishing clubs. With the (re) introduction of Otters some of these clubs are getting devastated, Carp who's history can be traced back 40+ years getting wiped out systematically, Barbel, Tench, Bream etc likewise. Something therefore has to break, I know many fishing clubs who are either not willing to re-stock their waters or who are putting up expensive Otter proof fencing. Where does all this leave the Otter? Locked out of lakes and ponds or only gaining access to one's with little to no stock it leaves them with the rivers. The rivers although much improved are getting plundered by our Eastern European friends (something the EA are doing nothing about) and Cormorants (both will clearly takes from lakes as well) so either the EA are going to compensate for this by a massive stocking programme or our rivers will slowly dwindle. Guess what they are not doing! Sometimes stuff dies out for a reason, it's not rocket science to see that our fresh water fish supplies are a limited resource already under pressure. I hope the EA pull their finger out of their ass on this but that seems highly unlikely and as a consequence they will be scratching theirs heads in years to come and wondering why it all went wrong. Apologies for throwing water on the fireworks but the devastation is wide spread and is being hushed by those too busy slapping themselves on the back about the (re) introduction. 4. Blimey mate your not having a lot of luck! I can't offer any advice other than get some decent legal advice from a professional. I signed your other petition I hope I don't see another one from you. Best of luck.
  5. I was always told by my old chimney sweep to leave the door slightly ajar on the log burner when it's not in use to allow the stack to breathe. Since then I have had the chimney lined and insulated so can't see it being relevant now, I still do it out of habit though.
  6. I get a lot left behind in my Hilux. I have an Ifor canopy on mine so it does involve a quick jump in the back to throw the rest out but the load is still off in a flash compared to previously. How much can you can on yours now with the sides as they are?
  7. This among with a whole load of others problems is known about the 3. I have the black and mine froze a lot on a recent trip to the States. The best fix is to remove the battery and restart. This is all well and good if you have time on your hands, not so good when your trying capture some action, you can't exactly ask everyone to stop for a minute. They released a new firmware and a letter of apology from the CEO but its still not right and I think further releases are due. There is a GoPro forum with quite a list of issues on it, makes for depressing reading.. On a positive note, when it does behave the footage is great and as everything is firmware driven these days I'm sure they will sort it soon.
  8. A Silver Pidgeon I, bought from new about three years ago. Had about 400 cartridges through it, just never get them time anymore.
  9. OT a little, anyone know a reliable place to sell a shotgun? Thanks.
  10. TCD, I type this during my first of six weeks off, coupled with a few hours a sleep at night I feel very frigging sorry for myself. I now have a nice chunk of metal that is a replacement for my previous hip, a massive scar and a swelling of the buttock only a Kalahari Bushman would be proud of. I feel totally useless as I can't even put my own socks on. I know though that once through this blip I will be back at it but recognising this as a blip is not something I'm very good at. Anyway, when you are in the dark valley, have a few hours to kill and in need of inspiration have a read of this blog Nick Fener I don't personally know him although I have shared a jump plane with him whilst I was in America, he came across as an all round nice guy so I followed this with interest. As they say, there is always blue skies somewhere, hope you felling better soon.
  11. I understand that and it doesn't sound cowardly. That's what the Police are for, sadly they don't appear to be interested in much but speeding these days.
  12. Put it on YouTube and circulate it around, loads of people doing that now and getting some good results.
  13. Before ditching my Defender I read as much as possible about the new one. I understand the market you speak of is minuscule compared to selling a "Defender" to an American or someone from Asia. Hence if they change the Defender into something that will pass all the strict emission tests globally they can tap into a much bigger market and sell something inferior to people who are desperate to own it. Good luck to them.
  14. One of the comments says its $30K for the attachment. Also you would need a concrete yard otherwise you'd be knee deep in mud in no time to'ing and fro'ing. Looks a nice toy if money were no object though.
  15. Check out this one for some overhang. Landrover Defender 130 Double Cab Pick up | eBay
  16. Gnarlyoak, You might want to look into longterm usage of Ibuprofen. I'm no expert here by any means but my consultant told me that they believe there is a link between long term use and a weakening of bones. I have been advised against using it. I had lots of wear in my hips and a bit of Arthritis and had this done on Wednesday (see below), I was told once again to steer clear of long term use of it after my opp. I don't know if there is indeed a link but I'm forty and have been popping Ibuprofen like they have been going out of fashion for the past 5 years.
  17. Are there any British Tree Surgeons in your area, look in the French Connection or whatever it's called now. If you find one you could offer free labour for a week in exchange for info, they might then help you cover the basics, it won't then cost you anything other than time and the surgeon gets some free labour.
  18. The GoPro mount is mega strong. If you apply it as per the instructions it will not come off unless you have a major impact. I am using the same mount that I applied 3 years ago on my helmet and its as strong as the day it went on. I don't climb trees but mine is on a skydive helmet, it's subjected to some pretty big forces and gets they occasional whack when I forget its there and I hit the door on the way out If you are really worried then you can buy a low profile mount which is bolted to the Helmut and has no chance of break off.
  19. I sell logs Alycidon (very part time mind) so I know exactly what goes into it. £140 per cm is not what I call realistic though, I rather leave my oil boiler going for that sort of money.
  20. If you haven't got one make sure you get an under blanket for a hammock, it's nothing like sleeping on a bedchair! My 5 season bag felt like a piece of kitchen roll when I was in the hammock, I froze my bits off.
  21. I would like 4 cubic metres of seasoned hardwood, 2 for me and 2 for customers that I usually supply. I am based in Albury in Surrey and am looking for someone to supply in CM bags if possible (one drop so same address). I could get this from the local estate but their prices are way OTT so I am looking for someone to supply at a realistic cost. I would obviously usually do this myself but I'm out of wood and am having my hip replaced on Wednesday so will be incapable of even putting my socks on for a while Thanks.
  22. Good luck with getting a result. I had someone take my wing mirror clean off recently (£230 +vat for a new one) he drove off and after a chase I caught him. We got involved in an incident and the police got involved. His word against mine so I got a caution and a note on the file that I was the aggressor despite the fact the he admitted driving off from the scene (he got nothing by the way). Unless he's smashed your truck/car to pieces and if you want justice your better off paying the local crackheads to re-design his car, you are highly unlikely to get anything from the Police I'm saddened to say.
  23. Not sure that's correct. VLC will play .mov and that's a free player readily available. I'm sure others will also play .mov also.
