  1. Did you just typo 200 Euros? Frig me, I have three Gransfor Axes and I think the bill came to just a little more than that. For that reason alone, I'm out!
  2. Words fail me!
  3. I am not so sure it's quite so cut and dry as bad driving. For all the cars to end up on that corner there must be a severe camber on the road towards the kerb. If you look at the White Volvo coming down it actually makes an attempt to get out of this camber only for the back to get sucked into the kerb and then the front naturally gets pulled in and the rest is inevitable. Once your sliding down with on side lower than the other it's going take some special tyres to get you out of that. Interesting comments about snow tyres if it's true, clearly they make a world of difference.
  4. I have also seen it loads Mick, it's on about 50 servers as a free download and no copyright attached. No dramas, I will delete it if it offends you?
  5. There is only way to sort this respectfully. Massive field, sabs one side, pro hunters the other. Harry Hill in the middle FIIIIIGGGGHHHHHTTTTTT
  6. I'd take the shooting personally. But then I am not a wild animal and have a comprehension of the possible outcome. There is of course an argument that states for millions of years animals have been hunted by packs and therefore flight is built into their DNA as a possible means of escape. There is no flight from a bullet unless animals start changing their DNA rapidly: When legal, the figures for dispatched Foxes by hounds was at best nothing to brag about in the numbers game. If we really want to do something for the better let's sort out food production and the sheer number (in the millions) of animals that die in a cruel way so that Jeffrey the Yogart eating Anti can have his cheap Chicken breast vac packed from the supermarket. If the huntsmen and women were honest, they do it because they enjoy it. If the Anti's were honest they do it because they have a major chip on their shoulder and hate the wealthy and what they have. IMHO
  7. Chelsea Head Hunters at the local Hunt meet, I wasn't expecting that. I now have images that you have been talking about a different type of hunting, urban fox hunting. Where the Chelsea Head Hunters drive around in their Max Power Nova's wearing Burberry baseball caps with a pack of Staffies chasing a Fox chanting "your going get your f'in head kicked in, init"
  8. I am sure the Cod in the sea would rather get whacked on the head with a priest than die from suffocation or by being crushed on a trawler. Perhaps the people about to buy fish and chips should take five minutes to think about that before they buy their next supper. I think that's called forcing your opinions on others. I agree with Bomag, people should admit to enjoying it. Sadly this can't happen as you would be stereotyped as a blood lusting devil and hounded (pardon the pun) by those with morals that they must share.
  9. You sound like a very patient man, Will they not come out wnd fix it for you? Seems like your paying extra to fix shoddy workmanship.
  10. I have the opposite opinion to you on this and neither find it backwards or dishonourable. Like everything in life it comes down to what you find acceptable and morally just within the boundaries of the law. I was always bought up to walk a mile in another mans shoes before I opened my mouth, that not always easy but is common respect. I can't see your perspective (or others) but am happy for you to have that opinion and will agree to disagree and life moves on. What I cant understand is people who can't walk a mile in another mans shoes and will try to force their opinions and moral ethics on others (not aimed at you Spartan, Anti's in general). I personally find fat birds offensive but leave them to their cream cakes in peace and quite. Should I choose to take umbrage with their fatness and stick a video camera in their face telling them what their doing to themselves is morally wrong then I could expect a slap in return for my efforts. Why can't people just leave other people alone to their views and morals, if it's lawful then you should be able to do whatever it is that your doing in peace. If it's not lawful then it is a matter for the Police regardless of how well they are doing that job. If you take that role on yourself and you seek out the fire to stick your hand into then it's going to get burnt, simples. I do not agree with the bullying tactics on the video clips but had to laugh when the bloke fell into the ditch, toughen up princess life is harsh.
  11. Same as John Wayne then
  12. I hope that wasn't clearview giving you that information, never heard such rubbish. As above fire rope is there to seal, not look pretty. If you have gaps (other than the air vent) then at best you have an inefficient stove worst you have something that might leak CO into the room as opposed to up and out of the chimney. Let's us know the final outcome as it will be one to steer clear of (excuse the pun) if they don't correct the issue.
  13. I am in Surrey and placed an order last Friday with one of the major companies, it was 64p so someones getting fleeced at 80ppl.
  14. There is a very good keyboard that comes with it (screen tap) and you can use the mac external keyboards plus there is now a case with an integrated keyboard so there are possibilities if that's a concern. You are right about the other two, the iPAD will never replace a full home media system but for those that want to look at the web and use multimedia whilst on the go it's excellent. Would a SD slot be useful, yes, I have never burnt DVD's so don't miss it but as these things advance then I am sure other features will get added.
  15. Missed the word "buy"
  16. I love mine. Instant power on, great web browsing, films, songs, books, loads of useful apps and a seemingly endless battery life compared to my notebook. It will be the way the industry goes over the next few years. Bye bye big hefty laptops. Did you the wifi or 3G version Steve?
  17. I always struggle to understand these reports when they say no arrests have been made, unless the stuff is sitting in the middle of public land it's sitting on someones private property. Arrest the land owner wire them up to some electrodes and start the interviewing process.
  18. Wouldn't it be easier for the customer If everyone sold it by the log i.e 250 logs, 500 logs, 750 logs etc. OK it will be a pain counting them in but at least the customer knows what they are getting, you could even size them, 5-7inches average 8-10 inches large. If I was a pedantic customer I would be happy as that way I knew exactly what I was getting as I could count them and better still I could even work out how long the load would last me, judging by how many logs you get through on an average week. It would then be easy then for the wood seller to put a note in his diary to courtesy call the customer in a X months time to check he still has logs and ask if he wants another load. You then do away with the argument of weight and volume and if your customer then gets rubbish wood it's down the seasoning and not some technicality on volume or weight. As you can see if the pro's on here can't agree to what is right volume wise or measurement wise how is a customer supposed to get it, that leaves it open to interpretation (SP?) and potentially an unhappy customer. Take it to the simplest level then nobody an get it wrong and then a quality product can then shine through.
  19. I do a lot of same site tipping and typically leave the back off, drive to the tipping area, and tip. I have in the past left the remote cable attached but also damaged one doing this so am not keen on it. Does anyone know of there is an after Market wireless remote as a permanent solution? I know Ifor Williams don't do them, just wondered if anyone had come across one.
  20. Interesting, will check my pressures, thanks
  21. Side tracking slightly.... Regardless of your tyres what method do you use for getting down big ar&ed hairy hills with compacted snow on them? I had some moments in the Defender last night and noted that diff lock tended to push the back out, take it out of diffock and if you got a slide on it would be less inclined to spin. I have the standard grabbers on and have to say whilst bullet proof at almost everything they were pretty awful last night. Also do you think tyres play a major part in coming down hills, up hills and general work it's a given but downhill I am not sure.
  22. This year mainly Birch also some Pop and Oak. Compared to other years this year I am organised and have hardly used any oil so far and am feeling very happy in the knowledge that I am not paying through the nose to keep warm.
  23. I have found that to be quite a short handle personally, I'm 6ft 1". You need to tyre (assuming your using something like that) up quite high. I have that and the Gransfor Splitting maul with the 30" handle and find that a much nice length. They do the splitting axe with the longer shaft but I guess it all depends how tall you are! I have a Fiskars for sale if anyone is interested, save you waiting until next year.
  24. I have two Stoves, one is a Stovax cast Iron and the other a Charnwood Steel (cast iron door) and to me there is no difference between the two. I have been told that cast iron has a longer life but I will probably have to wait for a long time before this becomes apparent. So is there a difference between either in everyday use?, not that I can find? Hope that helps.
  25. Bjam, I have the same stove, I assume the plate at the rear is to reflect the heat and to stop the plaster cracking? unsurprisingly my wall gets very hot and the plaster has cracked, I assume yours did the same?
