  1. Yeah i do, just used it today ony 17.33km, its really good, i especially like looking at the data to see where i slackened off as i ran out of steam. Heres the quick sprint i did today, i tried to find as many uphill sections as i could because i hate cycling on the flat.

  4. So why not get a crane in for a controlled lift? I know a platform would be a hindrance in this situation as it would be in the bombing line. Just curious thats all.
  5. Id personally vertical speedlined the sections to eliminate the "Nooooooooooo" risk, but obviously she was got down with no damage so good job.

  14. Mine is a prototype, the real one ISC is making will have a sheave on an oilite bushing instead of the friction bolt and the metal may be thinner. But roughly the same just polished up as prototypes are normally made bigger as the tester is asked to give it some stick. Its destroyed a tachyon line and nearly a poison ivy, not the wrench but by testing out the heat created from the hitch etc. Longevity of ropes = heat tolerant line, or a LJ
  15. You mean you wouldnt need to buy it, as it serves the same purpose?? I think Mistahbenn put up a rough release date, I like that the new ones design is more compact and the domed bolts are great as i found out today.

  19. Thats what i was thinking, might use some pluming plastic pipe too. We will sort a date, i'll try to have a ride over on the weekend to Earlham to see what the trees like.
  20. Yeah i took it off after signing off my review with it, now testing without. Im sure some will take it off so might as well give it a blast. My line is a SRT static-dynamic line so maybe thats why it worked well on mine??

Just straight over a limb, i am on a very thin line tho, thinking of making a bridge between the Rw an LJ to see if that can speed the ascents up a bit, Still on the hunt for a nice large open tree. I know theres the Oak in Earlham park used by the ISA TCC in 2000 for the work climb, maybe a stealth climb during a weekend??
  22. Im going, courtesy of Husquvarna, thoroughly enjoyed the last one, especially the amount of times i walked past that static demo of the log over the path and hear, i wonder if thats in the risk assessment. Oh and the BEAST grinder!!!

I'll be honest with you James, the video was good but there were a lot of times you could see way too much pressure had been created with the GRCS, especially as you were trying to use it to winch the limb clear of the object below once it was about to drop (before you cut it off visible immediately after the hinge break). From past experience of using GRCS's id of put the lowering line much higher up like the log section you too out early on, higher point requires less pressure to achieve movement due to it point of lever, if you get what im saying (3:18 is an example of this and at 3:31 showing the amount of force loaded by the movement of the butt section). The lift at 5:50 was pretty sweet though. Just telling you how i see it as i remember a situation when Daryl was young and over tensioned the winch which resulted in the anchor point failing and a Blue ISC block + top screaming past me and into my lines.
  24. A tad off topic, but whilst deadwooding a crap load of limes and oaks today, i was retrieving my line and drt-ing down to the ground. After the 3rd tree was complete i decided not to take out the RW and actually found it made the LJ amazing to use, no initial jump or force required to break the bend in the cam, off i went and at some speed too. So basically it can be used to modify drt lines with the LJ if you want (not saying that you do ok). Might look at someway of holding the RW up a bit away from the LJ too sometimes if you move your weight off the RW moves about into neutral (SRT), but i always check before allow weight on the line.

Hi everyone, I met Paul a number of weeks back and have know his son for a few years now, Paul isd a very competent climber, knowledgeable about trees, rigging and i must add and extremely passionate about his job so im sure he'd to a 1st class job. Good on you for digging that stump out and cycling around looking for contractors. See you at a climb soon buddy and that t-shirt will be in the post by the weekend.
