  7. Mat 5:16 is a sign of a pro! Great video although i think the picture i saw puts the height in better perspective as the video makes them look smaller imo.

  9. have i mentioned how much i love my winch........
  10. Nice Dan, Get its designs on paper and sent for patient
  11. A bit from today, the winch saved so much time and whilst the mill is on loan it allowed me to get some timber back to the yard.
  12. WOW!!!!! These are amazing shots, you should get some reproduced and take them to craft fairs. i paid £15 for a kingfisher one recently and it look quite rubbish in comparison to your tree shots.

  17. So if i even had any doubt about buying the winch, today i was a true believer, So we had a call out fallen black pine, 25ft long and 60m drag to the chipper. We set the winch up to cover 45m worth and had to set re directs to go around a few obstacles . So we cut the tree in half to pass the other pines whilst turning it and flipped the other part onto it and strapped it together. Winch away all dragged down in 5mins i think without it it would of taken 30mins extra on the job.
  18. The easiest way is to leave your DRT kit at base and make yourself use SRT. Once you immerse yourself into it theres few occasions you'll go back. Today i had a quick maple failed branch to remove decided drt.......... what a pig! SRT line in, redirect, cut, remove redirect, collect anchor, done in 15 mins, DRT 25 mins.
  19. Yeah but only on this bit as there is all the stock we need. we probably will leave the 140 left in the block you were in as it looks like the extraction is going to take too long.
  20. A couple more and the last one is a before we started winching out and after 100 6m poles out of this block then we did a very small block that contained 14 6m poles.
  21. So today we went in for 6hrs to extract Block 1 to riverside for the barge to collect. Due to last nights full moon the river level was higher than the bank in a lot of places so myself and sam got soaked in frozen water very quickly. Jenny operated the winch from the dry . Skidder cone was a bit fiddly BUT was a real god send we manged to mainly get drags of 4 which i was happy with and the drag line setup worked a treat.
  22. doh, i thought wellingtonia the was like it looks topped cant be so went on to cedar or Picea
