  1. impressive bench Dan, nice looking site,
  2. Great Video link Mat, talk about making the best of a situation. It looks really good and glad to see it being used almost as a legacy rather than a quick flit on a fire:thumbup1:

  7. Just a skidder cone from proclimber, use it all the time even when using the truck winch.
  8. I've found it quicker to drop and drag though. Might do the last phase which is remove all the ones we have left that way to see if it is quicker, easier, less faffing around
  9. A number of pages back Joe Loggs off here posted one with a petzl tether, seen him use it and it look pretty much perfect for the zk1. I prefer Adam Bournes 10" tether (NO ADAM NOT PINKIE ) for the zk2.
  10. Blimey this thread now has over 100,000 views!!
  11. Care to give us a review of the setup? Pros? Cons? Revelations in comparison to a hitch?
  12. Exactly what i do Nice and smooth that way
  13. So another chair, still struggling with the eyes and mouth though.
  14. thoroughly enjoyed that, nice work and close work to that building.
  15. Its a bit weird Adam, we've got to clear the navigation risk trees (ones that have a higher likelihood of root failure) As the barge is working against the riverbank. In 3 weeks were back in to fell the remainder edge trees to a coppice. Its mainly being done because were clear felling certain compartments to allow them to regenerate as reed so the edge trees are 30-35ft high, skinny with a bushy crown so the risk of windthrow is really high. Hope that makes it clearer, i thought id share it rather than put up "another headcam vid"
  16. So i'll explain the reason for felling into the river. Its easier to butt tie and fell into an open space with the lean, id either have to mess around with the throwline or spike a bank edge tree to top tie. Also if the tree failed (0.01% chance) then im going into the river with heavy gear on and attached to said tree. Finally, its easier to winch between then drag a crown through other tree crowns.
  17. Its because i've added music (restrictions) as i hate silent movies
  18. Whats the date Jon, I know im climbing some tall trees on a lot of saturdays but might be able to swing in for one drink.
  19. So weve got about another 5 days of this, quite fun dropping trees in the river though. Highlight is the digger drivers mispronunciation of words (see title) Any way hope you enjoy [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VFGqP1u5rY]Swamp Logging Broads style - YouTube[/ame]

  22. oh dear it only took me to now to realize the thread title :blushing:
  23. Nice one James, been thinking about focusing on the bigger sites or nicheing more. Big costs though i think at my last work out it was near 30k to where my final setup goal is now off to rob a bank.
  24. Is that a 4 wheel arb trolley? You merging with someone then?
