  1. Pretty much every medium sized dismantle up. Makes the whole operation run smoother and a low risk of miscommunication, also use them when working on roads, long drag sites and winching work which means you normally cant see them. Stein ptt system 2 units for around £300.00 inc radios.
  2. Hey, cheers for the link! ive been racking my head for weeks on how to do an eagle
  3. Mark, I was wondering if you managed to look through your data from you test and found out what went wrong? Personally i think the timber was 0.2mm too big for the heavy duty rigging rope. Its a shame that your main rigging line was wreaked too.
  4. just be aware of uv joints on the props, they can lead to vibrations wreaking a gearbox. Um talking of gear boxes they seem to have common faults with bearings going. Also finding a 2nd hand gear box is like gold dust. Just a few problems ive found. Mines getting its gear box dropped off in a few weeks to have 2nd and 3rd gears re done. BUT i must add mines been in peat marsh for a good few months so wear an tear is massively increased.
  5. Blimey someone could be in pocket and the other out, but which one
  6. I think in reality it boils down to personal preference. Some will tell you how great a product is but until you try it for yourself you can only speculated. Find a reccy climb near you as there is normal a good diversity of climbers kit about so you can try before you buy.
  7. What hinge
  8. One from today, quick straight up to knock the dead head off an alder, set the GoPro up off angle to capture this.
  9. Its because im using bigger muscles groups more i guess and my core more. So being a 35% of the time consultant when i do climb i lose weight unlike the day in day out guys. My biceps have lost weight but my triceps have got noticeably bigger and my core is more toned and stronger. When i used drt my arms and shoulders were big. As for the comment on redirects id go with yes and no. Yes some people can manage a crown without the need for re-directs but when i talk about re-directs i really mean creating a new COG on the tips so i remove the pendulum angle and im able to work the whole side just by ascending and desending the line. So for me i can access a larger work area with a horizontal line rather than working a sloping line. But as for do i think drt can do exactly the same No becuase i personally think i get a better work position and Yes i think srt for me is quicker in the crown except on some jobs where i will use drt. A large waffle but hopefully everyone can understand it. As for the DRT vs SRT thingy id like to add Platform
  10. I reckon so hopefully I love the RW but see that its position in the market is because its a lot cheaper than the Uni. I guess thats also the reason a fair few are using the HH too. haha i'll pop a picture up of the stuff rock exotica send me through next friday for test reviews I might have more as i have fridge magnets too......
  11. Now i was just thinking today what SRT has done for me, other than make most jobs quicker and no more tight elbow in the evening. its also helped me to lose a stone! Now i normally get down to this weight before my pole climbing season but well SRT means i now have more free time to well...... um....... do stuff. Anyone else noticed anything its done for you?
  12. Well in a couple of weeks i should have my uni over and be giving it a go.
  13. Thinking about it you could just get your groundy to hold it or get your doggy to sit on the line.
  14. Either place a log on it or clip a throwbag.
  15. I think i may have found an arb type(ish) one [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX6m8UiO6lE]Harlem Shake [Petzl America edition] - YouTube[/ame]
  16. Velocity for srt is good, i used it before kern, along with pi. Somewhere in the many posts on RW feedback i rated the ropes id used. Velocity does feel to have less bounce but i prefer the kern for some reason.
  17. Its got EN number for both.
  18. SWEET! Cheers Steve
  19. That no one finds it funny Sorry Sam, i dont get it, but maybe im classed as old and they dont get anything that young guns find funny.

  21. Welcome alex The first revelation moment for me was using the re-directs as new anchors, some right out on the tips which made crown reductions enjoyable. Anyway a picture i just edited from todays 3 piece, balanced and capture COG rope. 3 hrs to lower off 2 30ft limbs and the remaining 25ft of timber. Not a big tree but i had a drop zone of around 2ft (1ft each side of the stem). So drt i would of had 2 choices high anchor in the oak behind.... or srtwp, bomb a line through the oak behind and tie off to another then spike up and install a redirect anchor on the tree. Simple movement, not sure drt would of been able to deal with the movement out too (lots of over lapping branches). So thinking about it a reckon drt would have cost me another 1hrs time.
  22. No, but hopefully the stuff thats in the pipeline might see me only using rock exotica stuff Orca lock is very clever,
  23. Might try to blend it in more.
