  1. I got a stallion one. Just as good as a silky saw to be honest. Handsaws are also really good. Oh and there cheaper.
  2. If your thinking Hgv why not get a class 2 instead of a class 3? There's a lot of higher capacity trucks that have the same footprint as a 7.5t peter haine would be worth asking.
  3. Probably but..... If anything was to loosen during transport. Ie like when I took out a 30mph sign because a bounce shook a strap off.
  4. So i had to remove this oak over a pond. I decided to setup a dragline as to me it made sense. Anyway turn to HD and any questions, criticism or trolling is welcomed. [ame] [/ame]
  5. A mate of mines has my fast tow trailer on long term hire. In return he's upgrading the system with lock off valves to stop the slew from being able to move during road transport.
  6. Nice pic john. Moving timber the easy way. One from today. Taking 8m off the top of these conifers because of reduced light to a set of solar panels.
  7. I think the guy who owned it said it only weighs 2.2t. Hell yes, since buying a loader I honestly cannot understand why I tried to work without one.
  8. 2.8t. If the timber was being moved to a landing zone. Then the Avant and Vermeer would of been the weapons of choice with the wiederman loading trucks. The floatation tyres on it were immense. It was just driving over ground I was up to my shins in mud.
  9. I quote during the week normally. Just so busy that I needed to clear some of the medium sized sites quickly. Although this weekend was the first site for Target Total Tree Management Group. Basically myself and 2 other companies have formed to tackle larger sites as a group rather that quoting against each other. One of us quotes for the site. Finally finished the site. All done by 13:00.
  10. They look really good Paul. Nice job.
  11. This just happened. Tracks win??
  12. Highways work today for a new housing estate, got in a mate with his loader to take the timber away.
  13. Today's job was demolishing a few oaks in a paddock. And reducing this black poplar off an asbestosis roofed workshop. I decided to base anchor in the next one as the rigging kit was around the worked tree.
  14. Apparently according to Paul and Lesley I've increased the sales of them dramatically from posting on here and Instagram. If only I was on commission hey. Boxer or Vermeer are the best tracked ones. Not much in it to be honest but I liked the build design over the boxer. Just my personal preference to be honest. Now if I was buying again I would of got the big 800tx. I thought I wouldn't need something that big but there's been a few times I could of moved timber easier with a bigger machine.
  15. Yeah UKTT were involved in climbing the large one in Wales. I wasn't there as I was getting married that day but dan Curtis, jack price and Nathan Marshall climbed it.
  16. Only one from today on the wet wet broads.
  17. And that's the difference between making money and not.
  18. A few from today and yesterday And this just made me smile courtesy of treemender.
  19. I took this today and thought it looked almost like flowing water.
  20. Haven't a clue. I'd imagine ground level craning.
  21. They out a new sub station in and lifted the trees out whole.
  22. I found a picture off Facebook.
  23. Made any decisions yet? Was it Vermeer that cancelled?
  24. That's a big ass crane. Efl in Plymouth used a 1000t crane once for some work they did. I mean it was huge from the pics I saw on Facebook.
  25. I've gone through a few. One got fired because he was moonlighting for another company. I've got nout against them doing a little private job on a weekend though as I'm busy enough. But your right they think all the money off the job is yours and forget about the 70k of equipment that's on finance to keep them in a job.
