  1. Today's job was reducing this 112ft black poplar down to 90ft after a "tree surgeon" reduced it and thinned it. Which translates as knocked the top out a lions tailed a lot of the limbs. Adam Bourne made short work of it having it completed in 6hrs and we couldn't of asked for a much nicer day/area. Cake and deli seconds away on foot, lovely weather and a great crew in.
  2. Nice set of pics Nathan. So jealous of you xx
  3. So my mates finished off the engine move and added a swing hinge but for the controls.
  4. I've only ever carried it out in norwich City. It's normally between 2 neighbours that have fallen out in the past and the tree is their version of spite I guess. It's funny but most just let us do it even though they have a period to get other contractors in. It amazes me because the enforcement charge from the council is £250.00.
  5. £5 inch across the widest part and a depth of 6 inches. Is what the contractors do around my way.
  6. Not a clue to be honest I let the enforcement officer serve notice and we do what the court/council have decided a few weeks later. We just have a copy handed to us a few weeks before the scheduled date. This gives the person time to get the works completed by someone else. If this is the case we get a cancellation cost and go to another one. Just some work which we win a lot of.
  7. Got this for those fine reductions.
  8. We had a 87% coverage apparently. Initially I was disappointed but after the event I realised it was actually really dark.
  9. Some great pics recently guys. Cool work. A few from today. A mate has taken off the mounting dan Curtis did when he had the trailer and mounted it to the front creating more room for wood. the last one is one of our apprentices doing his first bar and a half fell. (I just made him use a smaller groundsaw than give him a bigger saw)
  10. Cheers Jon, Yeah I only really do the sites big machines can't get to. Probably 40 small sites a year, never that interesting compared to arb.
  11. hahah im shaking in my size 5 heels.
  12. Totally agree I see you as having 2 jobs both in trees. Yeah childcare costs a bomb. Lucky my wife runs a nursery.
  13. You talking about my totes buff forearms?? Cannot think who else you could be Talking about. Haha
  14. Yeah he is, dropping the 10ft cedar length.
  15. Fair enough. However....... What do you think other tree companies say about you winning the work they quote against you on? Just wondering on how you think they react? You rely on it for childcare, they rely on work to earn a living and stay afloat. Not arguing, just looking at it differently.
  16. Yep, there's a few super busy guys my way which are nearly £200 cheaper a day. Doesn't bother me one bit these days. Focus on my own work, my own life and don't worry about the work I don't win because if I won them of be doing them at a significant loss.
  17. Was it Olli husar?
  18. Cheers everyone. Hahaha Gary I think the title for that bit would be "arborist to homelessness looking" also the winch is one of my most used purchases. Wouldn't be without it. So I'll just credit everyone in the video as without them I wouldn't have the free time to make the videos and get the jobs done. So; Adam Bourne, Jack price, Steve townsend (shendy) Sally may Matt kemp Matt warden Adam Bateman Sam Heath Ed Benton And Tom Rawlings. And for those of you with an eagle eye you'll spot the wife working. The winch in one where I'm following the turn.
  19. About 70% of the footage is over 5 years old. A few bits which are newer. Anyway hd and enjoy. Darrin, I especially spent more than 10mins throwing this one together for you.
  20. Is that what's referred to as a Scottish 10% reduction?
  21. We removed this oak 2 years ago and happened to be working next door to the stump. It went down about a meter.
  22. Today tasks. A boundary tree dispute enforcement job, not ideally the best spec but it wasn't decided by tree surgeons. Then a conifer to come down for the homeowner who we were carrying out the enforcement for. I didn't get a last pic as I had to go to the hospital for a meeting.
  23. Went back to a site we were contracted to clear the trees. Ed had a tub grinder in and invited us back to see it in action. First in grinder I've seen work. what an animal and oddly a lot quieter than I expected.
