  1. Too addictive monkey-d. But well worth it. Matt you photoshop it buy opening the photo in editor then going to layers, duplicate layer, the go to enhance, convert to b&w, then go to eraser icon and use block for the big bits, brush for the edges, once finished go to save as, change the format to jpeg. Job done.
  2. AAAAAHHHH i couldn't stop watching tho.
  3. I thought id add pictures that i've photo shopped around on here from 2010. Now i know how to do it (after reading monkey d's thread) i thought id make them throughout the 2011 season.
  4. Superb shots. You certainly have a good eye for this, all your photo's i have seen have been exceptionally good.

  6. Better than 2009. Im sure this year is going to bite hard as reduction in government spending will effect the local tree management. The vat and fuel will make us all more expensive and i think the weekend workers will be in a boom time whilst us self employed people will feel the pinch.
  7. Get all your crabs and put them in the washing machine, 40 degree wash and a high spin should do. Oh or just blast them out with an air copressor then put some graphite powder back in.
  8. Blimey, lucky it was only the bar and not the whole saw.
  9. Hi Daniel, Just a question, why didn't you have the top handle stropped onto you? Does this not a) increse risk to poeple below b) run the risk of dropping your saw from height? Regards Ian
  10. You could mod the exhaust port theres a thread on it somwhere in chainsaws.
  11. Broke my stein ratchet on monday ordered that night arrived on wednesday. Speedy service and well packaged box.
  12. Ah seeing a weaver harness brought back memories of my 1st harness loved it to bits.
  13. Just add a couple of pictures. The one of the ratchet is were i dropped a large lump of timber past it and well it didn't agree with it. Couple of james rigging and on the way up, one of the tree before we started and one of the camera before we felled the stem over it.
  14. Nope, just seems to be crud running a 30" bar on it.
  15. Don't forget to bring your ratchet strap. . . After i killed mine.
  16. Thanks, we're on a woodland edge and there is a phone line through where i would of loved to fell it. Also we've got a newly installed high pressure water main running down the drive so i though hmm if i can't fell it, i'll film it.
  17. Really like the 3rd one with the sawdust flowing off.
  18. And the photos if you like Target Trees's Photos - Oak rigging | Facebook
  19. As darren and armchairarborist are upping their video editing i thought id try to make one to set a bench mark:lol: Filmed with the GoPro HD on a tripod and Drift x170 in the rigging and face cut. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umiRCCu-Kjw]YouTube - Oak Tree Removal[/ame]
  20. So it gives a better balancing plane than a standard rigging plate?? I use a rigging plate to balance mainly but just wondered how the hub compairs on a 3-4 way balance?

  22. As long as the map i clear, the trees are easily identifiable from the plan and an on site visit there is no reason for a scale map to be produced. I; 1) list trees required for application T1 - oak, fell, dead 2) sketch a plan with clear showing of access points to the site and normally the closest main road. 3) place tree numbers on this map. Simples
  23. I think the real problem is with increased tution fees + living cost + books mean that students leaving uni will have 48k of debt. Yes once leaving uni there is a higher chance of earning above 21k immediatly. I think the underlying fact is that it will stop a lot of people going to uni and fall back once again to wealthier people going to uni and working class people not. Just my understanding of it.
