  4. Finally got round to finishing the totally rubbish Beech tree. All the wood moved to one place in the yard and was all hand balled onto the truck. Off site at 8:30pm as they wanted it cleared for the Easter weekend.

  9. Lucky Mark and good on you for posting it too Not happened to myself at height but i have very nearly done it:thumbdown: The best one i did recently was unclip everything EXCEPT my pantin and try to go into work mode......... It was like forced yoga.
  10. Yeah i thought you didin't, we were heading back from copdock, early start. Hatfield forest eh, what day are you thinking because im sure im free.

  11. Hi Dan, Everything has been very manic here at the moment as im testing kit and working so i'll go ask the farm on monday and should know prettey soon after that. Hope the Garnhams job goes well.

  12. Nearly missed this video, Nice climb Adam.
  13. Yeah it makes it a breeze in reality and reduces the angle of rope so less balancing against a long anchor point. I also use the strop technique if i have to climb up into a dead top to remove it, main on live stem the attach a strop every 0.5m so if you fall you only go through a 1m fall arrest. Takes a lot of time but if the wrost happens your safer than a 4m fall.
  14. Heres a quick picture
  15. I use a 1.5m length of split tail with a small prussik on it (very small lanyard) with a Stein O ring in it thread the split tail end through, clip in a dmm revolver. Job done. But most the time i just use some stein ppe slings and a dmm revolver set away from the fork/crotch.
  16. So we've been using these since monday and from the off i realized that i probably ahould of had some a when they first came out. Now its not just the communication with the climber and rigging but little things like walking somewhere twice, i.e coming back form the chipper only to be asked to get a pull line. Now its just a press of a button. So i estimate it saves anywhere from 30-1 hour on a 5 hour job site. Also the professionalism of you and your staff on site, no shouting by your elbow or stop cutting or the climber shouting free my line up. Its just easy and makes sense to use it. Although it looks like i need to have another one as it became apparent 2 on site were not enough when there are 3 of you trying to have a conversation.
  17. Nice video Mat, Seems like you got the last laugh on it tho.
  18. Looking forward to the video Drew. :thumbup1:
  19. Yeah you do use a different set of muscles plus some ones you used in DRT.
  20. How big are the steps your taking? I used to take big steps until it was pointed out to take smaller steps. Which means i expend less energy.
  21. Really nice video, smooth work too. Did you not have the vented back on? As it looked like it was steaming up a bit.
