  1. We are talking about professional thieves, this is how they make a living in much the same way as we do by grafting every day, my only advice would be, if you have your saws, chipper etc with you on the way home and have a dodgy vehicle behind you don't go home, make a detour until youv lost them, because as soon as they know where you keep your gear they will hit you. Its a sad state of affairs but that's life:thumbdown:
  2. I once bought an 020 from a bloke I knew, all in good faith, I took it to a stihl dealer to be repaired (electronic ignition) and he pointed out to me that the serial number had been ground off. Obvoiusly that's the first thing to check, I,d also check for numbers welded on it somewhere (hire shop tools) although it could of been bought at an auction. Not sure if theres a database where you can check the serial numbers.

  5. Impossible to put a price on that, look on ebay ,see what gates like that are fetching, put it in an auction if theres one near you, I would imagine a quality gate like that would fetch good money
  6. Love one, but ive heard bad things about the set up,have you got one and if so,any good?
  7. One of my log customers works for an alternative energy firm and seems to know what hes on about (judging by his house, cars etc) I once asked what is the best overall alternative he said wave power and the worst...........wind turbines, what it costs to buy and maintain them and getting very little power back, although he was talking about it on an industrial scale.
  8. Never come across an accurate one yet

  14. I also agree with this, we have many posts on different subjects, girls, get togethers, cider, trucks etc etc none of them arb related whatsoever, but im sure none of us want to discuss arb work all the while.
  15. I,m on my 6th hilux starting from 1990, I take them well over 200,000 miles before I get rid. In all that time ive replaced 1 radiator,3 sets of batteries, 1 rear spring, 2 rear wheel bearings and countless fog light switches (who hasn't?) I,m not saying luxs are the best as its all ive had, but I wouldn't have anything else for work.
  16. I think the problem sometimes lays with the way posts are posted, I can post "sod off!!!" or I can post "sod off":laugh1::laugh1:"
  17. Totally agree:thumbup1:
  18. Read it,nothing wrong with that, Im surprised how many people are getting log burners , but never lit a fire in their lives, they aint got a clue. Telling them how to stack their logs is good advive:thumbup1:
