    hi mate got 10ton of ash delivered a while ago, and decided to mill some of the bigger buts, definetly mill longer as its shaked like a b...ch,,,,but should still be fine when remilled next yr,,,,it moves faster than anything else,,,,

    having read various comments on here about riko, would just like to say, that I bought a 11VR petrol engine splitter from them some time back , and its a great splitter, but for some reason a couple of weeks ago, it started leaking hydraulic oil, thinking I could solve it, i replaced the seals and tried again, leaked again,,,gave up and sent back machine to riko, where they happily said they`d look at it, next day jim rang and said they`d found a fault in Ram and would replace it free of charge!, picked it up today, not even postage for spare part asked for,,,top service, and cant speak highly enough about them, if only my chainsaw trousers had that guareentee,,,well don riko,,

    just want to add that, something is only worth what you can get for it, and this depends on circumstances,,,if your an arborist selling wood, yes you`ve been paid for it,and even after labour splitting costs,fuel etc,,you always going to be cheaper than the "woodfuel supplier" as hes bought his in and cant compete,that isnt the arb blokes fault,,just the way it is,,,in realitly due to this great website,arb blokes are realising that firewood can be sold at higher rates,hopefully creating a true cost,and profit to all,without ripping joe public off,,,

    This is definetly the case, took mine back to ford ,they replaced the plastic caps and twelve months later,,same,,,,so dont worry,,,horrendous cranking noise, specially when bouncing off a kerb,or on full lock,,,design fault,,,

    I think you`ll find ben law probably didnt! his "(paying for the experience)volunteers did", you have a large area to cover, and cleft shingles look lovely and rustic, but sawn are far faster process, and i`d love to see someone cleft leylandi,,lol,,,good luck ,,,

    your right, put it in sticks, and let it air dry, under cover but with good air flow, the wind will dry it out, if your lucky enough to have a kiln, then bingo,,but not many of us do,,,,I leave my oak out side,,then move it into cold room at back of workshop to further the slow drying out process, all depends what the final useage is, being a table it needs to be dry.

    £70 per cube here in reading/berkshire,,,,but maybe more next winter if fuel prices keep rocketing.....

    hey mate try riko,,theres a link on the side here,,I bought the AR11ton machine,,and whilst the ram isnt the fastest,,splits almost anything Ive thrown at it,,,and should set you back £1500 ish,,,,all ours is arb waste...

    hi andy, we have same problem, I currently use pto jappa sawbench behind tractor for anything smaller than 12", then goes on riko 11ton splitter, as you say this is slow, but effortless, and you soon get through it with the odd couple of hours at end of arb work, realistically ,,an out feed on the sawbench would speed things up, and a cracker for splitting the larger diameter stuff would be handy,,,but where do you stop? we cord most stuff we can lift on arb jobs and stack in one pile ,and bigger rings in another, makes things quicker, than sorting through monster stack of mixed.

    mate the cabin pics are brilliant,,saved yourself a small fortune,take it you got planning permission to live in the woods,,,wicked,,, Where did you get the shingle attachment? and is that a forrestor mill?
