  1. Even on weekends? where most of the time its going to be for family or friends. sounds a bit harsh to me.
  2. Some impresive pictures of trees/tree work if you are able to use computers.
  3. Do you think they are to young to hear someone of the horror stories that come from the dangers of tree work i no that would intrest the lads anyway.
  4. Im pretty sure you do but someone else will be able to clarify that.
  5. If you only do one day a week why not start advertising I relise this is extra cost but mybe its more of an investment then insurance might not seem so 'pointless' if thats the right word to use.

HAHA the funny this is I did exactley this ive never found it useful in my training im not saying its a bad method just my opinion but the asescor said use what ever sticks or markings you want so I did when I wasnt use to it and still cut through my hinge. Thanks for posting I didnt mean to sound rude.

  9. Not realy trees in such but lsot gardens of heliguian are impresive, cant remeber trees as much as I wasnt in to this back then but its a great place.

  12. finaly got some confidence to post on here that I in fact failed my felling assement today. Entierly my own fault realy cut through hinge and looked round back of tree and dont ever remeber doing that in my training. very annoyed at myselg especially after last weeks feeling of passing 30.

I feel a bit odd about this thread Logbaron I can understand where you were coming from completley but its a forum If infomation like this was around ten years (the figure I think you said) would you not use it? I would think your a fool if you didnt, ts not fair but tis the morden times im afraid if your not happy to answer his questions then ot someone else will theres no reason why there isnt someone out there that is happy to give infomation with respect chipan is 60 years old im not sure he is going to be the number one log seller in the land and beat your bussines to everyone customor going. And chipan I do mean this with the respect But Chipan why not start out see how it is if you strugle then maybe come on a forum and ask for advice on how to be more succesful. apologies for long post
  14. Yeah I agree with everything hammayard said you can only wear front protection in summer and glasses help. I no this is easy for me to say why not limit the work you put on your self assuming your self employed I no its monney and that but I remeber last year it was horrendous. Even though though it only seem to last a piitiful week.
  15. not realy been left long but I wish I hadnt chose so much sport at the time I was running for kent, rugby at club/school/ and more school clubs and then a year later I lost interest discovered alcahol, ciggerates and women and couldnt be assed. Wish I done computer studies to.
  16. Not a timber wolf but our small horrible chipper weve had one bloke head first in the hopper (not strictly good working practice and it asnt going and he just had another bloke holding his legs up. the one im on about didnt have reverseable rollers.

  19. any other form of shoe im ten my boots are 8 and a half just try them on the shop wont mind you wear them everyday and will be for a while so make sure you feel comfortable.
  20. its what you feel comfotable in is the general advice I find haix very good there is nout wrong with them IMO.Cant comment on climbing but see plenty of blokes were em.

  23. For some reason im pretty sure our polesaw had this problem more than once. First time fixed ourselves how im not sure but it didnt last to long and had to go in for repair. And happened recently put the dead mans trigger down and the throtle just had no resistence and wouldnt engage. Cant realy help but just saying dont think your alone. is it a stihl?

Haha your two stories are great. last June during the mega mega hot period we were on a mass clearance job at a regularly done natiional trust site, lots of big ashes felled lots of hand balling extraction lots of burning brash in 25 degree heat. Not long had this bloke on 35 ish years old reckoned hed had a massive job in farming or something, and the week before this prticular day he said On site 'I cant take this heat can you take me to the yard I want to go home' Ok mate your self employed its your monney etc' Then a week later A trust warden asked him very nicely to move his car from under an oak or something and that was it he went no goodbye no phone call just couldnt handle it me and a blokes were sweating our tits off and relised hed been gone a while. About 2 months later he had the cheek to phone back and ask for work!
