  1. I wouldnt want to run either with an 18 inch I dont realy think they have enough power to work that. As for the course it used to be a 15 inch bar size restriction but its all changed no and there is no size limit ( I belive) not sure whearther theres a restriction now

  13. I remember seeing a posch procesor at a show and I think they are the best built machines in that sector, every niggley little thing wrong with other machines had been resolved on the posch. I dont know about the said splitter just saying about what i Know about posch
  14. Why should a man work for free if he is trying to live? When people on this forum quite rightly go on about how people devalue the industry by working for nout no one should work for free ive got bills/rent/insurance/fuel blah blah blah why should i waste my time working for free. Saying this ive done a few days for the working horse trust charity:thumbup1:
  15. or self employed is for people who dont want a full time job with one person and who wants to freelance into others for varied work and varied pay? it would all depend on employer I think more employers tend to go down geting people in on self emplyed basis due to ease and monney issues:001_smile:

  17. Exactley I wonder if there is a seperate forum for dealers who moan about people coming in and wanting servicing for cheap. Remember people expect arborists to be rip off merchants and think we charge alot until the overheads are explained, its no different for anyone else.

  21. another thing that may help is to fell a tree high and use the stump to do a few practice cuts on doing this on every tree in a day will give you an extra 3 or so times at practicing cuts. Just remeber not to fell high on the assesment:thumbup1: I also failed my small trees first time round and i had experience before hand. I just rushed into it acting a bit to confident and cut through my hinge. take your time youll be fine
  22. You'll be fine how many days have you had/got left? as others have said a few fells and you'll be fine and ask questions lots and lots of questions.
  23. indeed + You would be amazed but the minimum wage for apprentercies is 90 pound a week.
