  1. how you going to retrieve it steve? throwbag? if you're going to climb it then at least leave something as a good swap..
  2. can see this going wrong.. can't wait
  3. had pins on my own gates snap off the plate, bought some un-galved ones and put extra weld on both sides of plate, now holds the 1/2 tonne gates fine,
  4. nice, looks like the butt jumped up a bit. whats the reason for cutting the rings in halves? weight? or are they bigger than they look?
  5. ok its all better now, flywheel looks fine, starts even faster than before(was always fast anyway) needed new starter clutch, pinion and solenoid as well £45.00 ready for work tomorrow.. oh left the spanners out lastnight n tonight they were frozen to wingtops..Ed
  6. run 200tdi for work, but took my bro's v8 90 on a trial over crimbo, p'd all over a jeep with 30k spent on difflocks and trick suspension, and that noise...
  7. im all for preventative maintainance but i've been busy lately, at least it will come back in better condition than a cheap chinese new one and should last longer too.. not to mention the price.
  8. sweet, was just wondering if there was a way to re-title, don't wana upset anyone by calling the landy 'baby' this close to valentines day, folks might get wrong idea, starter re-build guy reccons he'll have it back to me tomorrow eve,
  9. mines gone to low signal today, as if it wasn't bad enough round here with the hills getting in the way,
  10. broke it yesterday, started was spinning up but not engaging, might be because of the broken / missing bits, it's been making funny noises for a few weeks.. had to get bump-started by a freelander:blushing:
  11. you're so right, lets get a weighbridge and some beech blocks, i'd love to see that..
  12. let her have the discovery back after its new cylinder head got fitted last week, now she would like heated seats like in the freelander she borrowed while the work was done, treated her to a takeaway instead, it was sooo romantic:thumbup1:
  13. when i said it doesn't leak i meant doesn't leak oils/antifreeze etc, of course it leaks, door gaps are huge, everytime it rains the paper mache mixed with doghairs and usual junk behind seats gets worse, not as bad as my old japcrap rotbox that would spray rain in to yr face from the bonnet:thumbup:
  14. Chestnut stain caused by aesculin, of course, why didn't i think of that, thanks Tony, good excuse not to work in the rain..or snow:thumbup1:
  15. took down a horsechestnut lastweek, noticed a blue puddle under the landy, thats strange cos this landy doesn't ever leak.. closer look it was coming from the woodchip, blue staining on water, not oily at all, pieces of stray woodchip on fresh snow were staining the snow blue too, got chipper home and hosed dust off..blue puddle, levels all fine as usual..must be from tree then, lad who climbed tree said afterwards it was on snow on branches up tree too, whats all that then? Ed
  16. pull cover off n have a check of its condition, if it doesnt look like new..replace it, you will be glad you checked if it looks worn.
  17. wot no hole in the wall pics? at least they had to work for them, not like you gave them away..
  18. think i'm gunna get me a drawbar, grow me hair longer, sell me house n play in't woods
  19. done a few of these last year, try not to do fencing but found this popular with clients, did the wall too but can't build for life in me, got rockery to re-do this year too,
  20. Dean, i know where there is frame for a big asbestos one,(dismantled) bent angle iron if i remember right, covered in brambles, the bent asbestos is probably there too, probably worth a look for nowt eh?
  21. another weaver?
  22. no lets bitch about hire companys instead and their lack of maintainance, sharpening and unreal pricing, they let me down bad loads of times, e.g. vermeer with top infeed roller on backwards..they said it had never been off(old machine)and nobody else had a problem with it, greenmechs with soft infeed springs so they won't grab branches, blades missing/broken, seized jockey wheels, wrong key after driving across town, hiring the tracked machine and having to buy an overpriced ratchet strap for my trailer etc etc. could go on and on, sooo glad i've got me own now and can maintain it myself..
  23. we only got two cups today.. right on time though an made properly by a fair maiden, one before we started, an one when tree was down, swept up by 1pm, nice easy day..
  24. does that mean all your quotes will be +10%?
  25. when we did rigging course nptc sent me some stickers with logo & cg qualified on. maybe i should ask them if i can stick them somewhere? or just slap them on the landy to cover some of the scratches. got a fair heap of silky stickers from arb show '09 too, might decorate the whole thing.
