  2. mm, my thoughts. set up proper security, as good as possible, better to prevent theft than be a statistic, for when it goes wrong as you said insurance comes into play, but to prove the pile of saws found in somebodys caravan isnt theres it should be identifiable as somebodys, i dont wana give the scum an easy ride, oh i gave up smoking as soon as i started as i got a sore throat.. Ed
  3. just a hard month thats all, this stuff looks good imo, good comeback man, cant wait to be able to dig chipper out n start working 1st time in 4 wks (except firewood of course). Ed
  4. fine then dont mark yours.. im desperately trying to save up £25 for it, Ed
  5. no matter how good your security.. its a good product really cheap, maybe we should mark our saws in the same places? Ed

  8. wish i knew too, got a mate in california who can buy stihl kit at about half price to over here, he was going to send one over as a gift to try the system out? Ed
  9. I know what you mean, every little helps, I've just beefed up security round here, extra heavy duty ground anchors and chains, cameras, trackers, alarms, screamer padlocks cable alarms etc, guess i wont be happy till i've foiled a break-in and proved it works, same as you, no way can I afford to replace kit. Ed
  10. seen this a few times, prunus going limp, like an arm with no bones inside haha. Ed
  11. second best to equipment being 'safely' secured, but looks worth it, i'll be getting some. thanks jim.
  12. I think the idea is to install rope first then climb ladder, to reduce risk of free falling from 25ft.Ed
  13. wow that sounds like a bargain then, i guess the idea is to put lots of dots all over your kit then? are the fuzz equipped to check for this stuff? Ed
  14. £20 sounds good, daft question-any idea how many micrdots per bottle? would 1 bottle be enough for say 20 pieces of kit? i'll probably buy some to try..Ed
  15. come on man.. choose a camera position and stick to it, (i always forget), nice work though. Ed
  16. latest is some supposed workwear company, always rings off a different mob number.. might be genuine but i'll never buy from a sales call.. we got telephone preferency wotsit thingy 2years ago but they look through phonebooks and ring up still.. Ed
  17. very rare we use ladder, used them a lot in non arb work years ago and still dont like them, do use them occasionally but i'd rather not. dont mind large sturdy stepladders for hedgetrimming. Ed
  18. trailers and black ice are a bad mix, sounds like a cold wet job fixing the cable.. what did you fasten the winch to? Ed
  19. ahh fink ah'll bye me sum a them thar chainysaw fingys, yeeharr
  20. that made me laugh.. not as much as the guy walking down the pavement today, hands in pockets, slapped on his ass then slid down the path on his back, (outside a car wash) got up tryin to look cool and shuffled hastily away, its funny cos its not me this time haha. oh was that riding downhill? looks like you accelerated real fast..
  21. have fun.. dont forget yr camera
  22. bet you hit it a bit faster on the way back eh? managed to get the landy stuck too today, one inch of ice, covering a stone slab lane, just couldnt reverse the trailer loaded full of copper beech up it slowly, took a few failed attempts, then a big run up backwards and just made it.. nice pics
  23. are they loud though? i need one with good speakers during calls, cant hear a thing at mo..
  24. 20 quid from tesco,,, its crap but very thin, seen landrovers newish tuff fone, £200 mmm, dream on.. Ed
