  1. thought i'd cut all the dead bits inside down about 3ft below final hedge height to give me something to stand on, worked a treat, gunna try it tomorrow too if i can..
  2. can i enter one of mine please? theres no shot of the part of this tree that went 2ft underground (about 6inch across) and didn't want to be pulled out by the landy, but there is some divot damage to feast upon, crashmats? pah.. sawdust and soil:thumbup1:
  3. leylandii reduction and trim, took longer than anticipated and nearly called for a mewp as stepladder was a bit short, couple of local residents stopped to say they thought we had done a good job, all i can see is the flicky bits that i should go back up for.. very boring, got another to do tomorrow as well..
  4. was told on nptc courses it can be on site in containers in shade etc away from workers, but at college doing foundation degree they told us its either in vehicle (mines in chipper hopper in builders bucket) or on lockable bund, of course i was probably half asleep and not listening at the time.. not sure where they got info from either.. so might be duff info,Ed:001_smile:
  5. got a 341 in december, its a good saw and seems capable but its always snatched up by laddo first cos its shiny so i cant say i've used it that much.
  6. think as long as its in the vehicle its ok, once on site its gotta be on a lockable bund or kept in vehicle, although we transport the fuel/oil cans etc in a builders trug bucket in case they ever leak, might be wrong though,
  7. started chaining the backend of mine to a heavyduty ground anchor everynight, really heavy chain n lock.. doesn't help you much but i sleep better knowing they have to make noise to nick it.. hope yours gets found mate, too many never turn up.....scum
  8. better than jumping out scaring the climber haha, once was sat up a scots pine having a breather..next thing a kestrel landed 3ft away along the same branch, i jumped and so did the bird
  9. at first i wondered what he was farting around at.. then it was obvious but still looked like hard work.. then it looked good in the end:thumbup1: isnt it them that have spiders n stuff under the fringe? so srt is the way forward and work down..
  10. doesn't take that much does it? the trees didn't need big stakes and there are no rabbits round here.. anybody got any other sapling abuse pics?
  11. nah man get yer chainsaw trousers on an run upand down the stairs a few times.. couldn't find mi keys n fone this morning, had to sit down for a minute when i'd found them.. if you want to take it to the next level- set heating on full blast, put yer helmet on with muffs n visor down and do it two steps at a time carrying the dog.. or just remember where you left your keys and go do the same at work getting paid..
  12. of course we are gunna look if you say 'do not look etc..' its like the guy up the tree saying 'don't look up' when he's dropping his rope out.. kinda wish i didn't look this time though:thumbdown:

  16. you will have to nip over here one saturday rob, might even do some work haha
  17. if its a worthy climb you're after then you'll have to travel north.. no soft southern trees up here, of course y'll have to wear anti-chafe gloves..
  18. went for a walk on friday in the woods, spotted a tree that sticks out over all the rest, think i'll nip up it before the leaves pop out.. obviously with a second climber, and a camera, and maybe some sarnies, oh & the dogs of course.. might even set up a cool swing weeeeee.
  19. one of my security cams takes pics / vids of anything that moves, put one in if you can, its probably yr neighbour or somebody you know..
  20. check status of tree first, we had one similar where a protected tree was pushing over a protected wall, had to leave end decision to LA.

  24. hey swb that reminds me of this pic of me a couple of years ago, found it high on the hill behind kinloch rannoch, there were two of them, must have been there years and years, tried to find them again this year but they would have been 2ft under the snow..
