  1. I've got a 53 plate Corsa Van, done 68k and very good nick inside and out. I used it to commute each day, as its very cheap van to run. Problem is with the injectors (i believe), the van runs ok, bit smokey, but it doesnt run true and has no guts at all. It sucked some water in last spring time and i have never got round to sorting the problem properly, partly cause I'm not sure of the money involved, and secondly I bought a new to me pick up so the van wasnt needed anymore so i SORN'd it and its sat on my drive since.we changed the filters, oil and serviced it but no better. I need it gone, shall i stick it on ebay as it is, fork out on repair or call around the breaker yards? Any ideas what i might get for it as it is?
  2. we tend to have a brew around half ten, lunch at 1pm and then work till we're done, unless its harvest and spraying late and will have a stop at six
  3. I've even heard of scum smearing sugar around filler entrance, so it looks like sugar has been put in tank but actually hasn't, owner isnt aware of this though and goes to expense to get it seen too etc
  4. they use it to keep pigeons and other flying vermin out of sheds. strong stuff
  5. It worked very well and the last log was easy to deal with. TBH i havent used it since i got my saw bench, but my old man claimed it and uses it most weekends in his yard doing wood for his own stove
  6. rowan, i'd also be very interested in seeing your billet rack
  7. I'm also just in the process of having my truck done, its just an l200 knig cab though so not much space to play with etc I will be having the nptc, lantra and nroso logos somewhere on my truck, these three bodies are most important to farmers i believe etc. other then that i'll have my logo, website, home and mobile and probably a small 'seasoned firewood & kindling' bit
  8. not much for couple of weeks and then 6 orders come in today and should get them all done tomorrow another 2 more pencilled in for friday also
  9. I've got a small carbon copy invoice book i currently use for firewood and it stays in my truck, but these invoices look awful in my opinion and I want a custom made invoice book, with my logo, website, phone nbumber, vat number etc on it
  10. hodge, who done the printed invoice book for you? i need to get one done but struggling to find a decent company to do one for me, and what was the cost?
  11. good idea that, do the logs still not snag when putting them in the net though?
  12. best bit of advice on this thread i struggled for 6 months last year, everything getting on top of me. Got new bookkeeper who has made my life so much easier again important to keep doing hobbies and stuff to relax
  13. I was down near Tottenham couple of years ago crawling through under growth, injecting Knotweed Stems, when I put my hand straight down on the handle of a kitchen knife blade It was hidden under some Ivy and must of been placed there, as it wasnt possible to throw said item where we were. Soon got out of there and refused to go bed in the that boarder as you couldnt see what you were kneeling on
  14. i run a Browns hydrolic splitter (Log Splitter | Timber Equipment | Browns Agricultural) and its a cracking simple to use splitter. well priced to for its decent build quality
  15. its for reasons like this i pay a good accountant! no need to worry then, he'll know exactl;y what i can and cant claim for
  16. a good product, clean dry wood, is the key. people will generally be happy and support you if you deliver what you claim.
  17. After a fairly slow winter of log sales and numerous Have A Go Harry's starting up a round here, I dropped a dumpie bag off to a chap this morning who was over the moon with the logs and after handing over the £65 said I was extremely cheap and will be telling his friends about my firewood business!! Customers like him make it all worth while
  18. my accountant is doing mine today, my book keeper got all the info ready for him last week. Them 2 are worth their weight in gold No worries at all this year
  19. brilliant boots, thank you very much billy
  20. Advert in East Anglian today, grassland and wood for sale £125k for 11 acres if i remember right, on the essex suffolk boarder

  22. loads of hobbies, fishing football golf shooting etc but enduro racing is my main one and expensive it certainly is!!
  23. where abouts are you roughly?
  24. all good points steve. the guy on Riko stand was fairly sure there are still a few grants around, and i'm going to look into a few trust funds local to me and who are keen to support young farmers. safety is key factor for me, and my saw bench i have right now isnt great on that front, hence why im looking at a new processor.
  25. can you buy say 100 nets already made for him, he sells them on and you go 50/50 on profits? i use to make kindling out of pallets when i was at school but was slow and dangerous! hats off to him though for wanting to earn some doe himself
