  1. Makes me laugh when a customers calls with the hump that I have not rang them back, and i kindly point out that telepathy is not best skill so a phone number would help lol.
  2. Wow that's not a lot of payload for what it is tho it's the nuts, but WOW 50k and 3500 for the ally box it's expensive I guess for 2-300kg weight saving. I think they should do a 2.5 ton payload but on a normal licence and let people tow up to 1ton would make business run so much easier. We're strangled by 3.5 ton and 750kg putting everyone through the tests is expensive and they can just leave the company. Ill be giving the angle iron a whirl I think thanks for the info
  3. How much does a fitted ally body cost looking into it ?. What extra do you need to run a 6t iveco ?. Thx
  4. I demo'd a quadchip, it's very good. Does anyone have a 3 plus year old one as I have been waiting for any problems to arise from these as they are quiet new ?. I have a 2011 tw125 which I do love it's so easy to move but the quadchip colour is nice, what kind of part ex should I ask in the new year for a 2011 tw125 new gx630 engine with less than 150 on the clock ? Shiney Mint condition Just after abit of info from an owner any pitfalls what's maintenance like etc
  5. I think jan and feb will be very slack, they always are. But the weather is horrible so sometimes a day off is nice
  6. You need to learn to book space into your days
  7. Could you do free quotes via email and text but charge for written paper quotes as this cost money and time and effort ie posting where as email etc is simple. Would that convince customers to switch to email or text quotes and for those without internet verbal quotes. Think of the saving of paper costs time and you can review all old emails easily who would go through a thousand old written quotes. I really hate sending post its an effort Soon you just type the price in your iphone bump iphones job done and one day payment the same way type in the price bump your phones payment recieved its all very clever.
  8. what determines a climbers wage in a county is the amount of other climbers looking for work, if you say i want £100 and someone else comes in at £80 you loose the job ?. For an average days work i think £80 is not bad when i was sub contracting i would work for what ever was offered. The idea of being good means you get more work done work a longer day which covers the higher wage if your getting easy work and short days £80 is the difference.
  9. Very impressive shop how are the quadchips holding up after a few years use ?.
  10. Well just thought id share common sense really, the locks timberwolf supply are at best crap Simple solution drill the lock holes bigger i went 7-10mm and now put a much bigger lock and it works fine alot harder to snip through. For when attached to the truck Also D lock the tow bar with a high grade cable chain. Side bonus if you leave the chipper onsite whilst tipping a long chain goes round things Just my 2p's worth

  13. We could diversify into offering solar panel installations in tree tops It will get to the point when the money will be crap the work will be crap and the arb industry will loose its apeal and reset itself. Everthing goes full circle its the way of the universe from the smallest to the biggest and applys to everything. Can you ride the slack wave ready for the tidal There will always be much easy better ways of making more money fact, but you would always be in looking out
  14. Crash n Dash Branch Benders Flop n chop Bush bandits Huggies tree service ( for hippies ) Hard Wood its endless reslly
  15. I think steve split the log right across the grain there cheap prices do force cheap jobs if you dont have the time but you lowered your first price then speed covers the loss and quality and speed are not always one and the same. I loose jobs and when you see that quality of work you see why they was cheaper and more often than not i get the call the next year But price will always vary not all tree surgeons are equal some are fast and good some are rogues and some just really dont know wtf they are doing and they dont mean to hack trees or undercut they just dont know any better. Guys if we wanted an equal playing field well there never has been one in any business so get chopping an earning and dont worry about it.

  23. Hi Andy sorry to hear that mate got a question was this caused by tree work or a natural thing ?.
  24. they may know more latin names etc but if its a 3 year course that puts you three years behind a climber that did his nptc certs experiance is king every time. if you start something finish it doing these course is a gamble as you cant charge more to climb you wont get it, you have to show your good and that can only be taught on the job. How ever you have more chance of being a consultant etc )
