  1. Have they got the same lump at the foot plate as the ali bash do? If so dose this make limb walking a git if on larger trees?
  2. No not at all. You are right it is a responsibility of a firm to promot themselfes & the quality of wrk they push out. Having said this if it was the sole responsibiity of said co's then this comes back to what & why do we need a body like the AA if we were all so good at self promotion? I feel the AA have a roll to forfill in our industury which runs along side the HSE & best wrk practice, the question is what else do they do for us. Alot of points have been partly awnsewerd in past posts from an AA man at much lenghth:001_tongue: 'thanks Paul' Businesse is businesse & the more we have on the same side is surly a better thing even if I do promote the next best arb app contractor whos price may be a little lower than mine. It's all about the trees right:001_smile:
  3. I wish all work gathered could be for 'good' customers. Not the case IMO alot of the time. Education & the abilaty to wrk people to seeing a good end result as well as bing given the £ at the end of the job is just a small but esensual part of keeping a small industury up their in prof ethics & practice.
  4. Got Dismantling 40? asked to do the pruning one for a co that is going for the AA acreditation! Am up for it if the price is right between for us all as long as the extra paper earns me more £..Not to sure it will though yet as my pruning is ok without paper to say so
  5. Beech within a beech & Dead & still laughing
  6. I feel it is in the art in which we perform. I am more than happy to explane to the cliant that my painting may not differ that much from the origanal but if I could not enlighten them to the sutulties that may not be aparant at first glance along with the truck full of chip next to me then I would be happy enough to swallow my hat & hack a load more off. Generally I explane the case in hand befor work comences so the shock to the system of a non radicaly topped tree is lessend. 90% of people I thin reduce for are more than happy with a little explanation 'if any needed' with the end result & resulting lessening of adaptive growth. You must have some real loppers & toppers to compete with your way?!
  7. Did some work in Langley park a few years ago for a co. Nick Kealey 'not sure if I spelt your last name right!' e-mailed me a section from the Independent on the things found on the standing dead, sun bleached dead & dead wood piles we left. Some plant life their as a result is only to be found on dw in that area! A truly underrated habitat!
  8. A point I was about to post too. But not only the times that we have to go aginst the grain but the abilaty to comunicate to your domestic cliants as to why the tree looks as if nothing has been done to it whilst standing next to a full waggon of chip:001_rolleyes: & then get them to part with the £ or sign the job sheet The abilaty to do your job the best you can with the best intentions & justification to follow:001_smile:
  9. Not a good thing. Thank's for the heads up in your area. I can see an increace in saw theft this yr unfortunatly. The prices of new ones has gone through the roof!
  10. Fantastic witch's broom. Not sure how long that would have lasted at the top once bud burst kicked in Stick it on ebay lol! 'no pun intended'
  11. Fully agree. Most of the time co's are happy for me to keep my creature comfots clothing wise, I would def not logo myself when carrying out wrk for other co's.
  12. Not sure ourselfs too. His name came about due to time/place/people we spoke to around the time of his 5 wk prem birth. Fitted our head space at the time. No access to computers & wiki then. Thought that counts:biggrin:
  13. A pull of a dead dure last week with one. Anchors didn't sink all that much. Mod to a 10 ltr lump & in proper good condition. What waggons:biggrin: Not my rig although I wish
  14. It's not the good customers we need to focus on though. The message needs to touch all sectors imo.
  15. Our sector is just a blip on the big pic of accidents 'it's all about numbers again!' I was talking about this the other day with someone I work with & the list of vat exlusion on not just trousers extended to climb kit too:laugh1: ain't that esensual ppe!!? I have done my bit for the idiot arb injurys last yr! I feel a campain to up our stupidaty is needed 'not talking about my spelling or grammer' injure to reduce vat! thats what they want ain't it?!
  16. Furk spill chequers! I prefur to git miy pont acrose in wat ever way i can! if ewe cant understand it, ven ewe most bee fik two!
  17. Our sons second name is Nion, after the ash he was born under! He was born in Sept though!! It was mainly to do with the place & tree that we thought looked apon him due to his impaciance to enter this world!? I think the trees that we are ment for will apear at the most inapropriate moments to our minds, but will & do show us a way we have not seen befor..If we have the time to see.. I know this has nothing to do with the meaning of the rise of the sun god ect but it made us feel good. This is somthing that .......Nion will learn in time we hope. Likeing your avitar too Nion?
  18. A tow chipper is natures limiter too! Ben90..
  19. Crap! heal well & soon! Was only last oct I bit me self.. 12 internal 18 ex stitches. How Stupid do you feel!? Sure their are still pics hear of my mess.. Take care & most important LEARN! from if 'as if you have't!!
  20. Can see that on you avitar. Nice. Takes time to see!?
  21. What ever it mite take:001_smile:
  22. Sounds like a plan unfolding..?
  23. I hear it is standerd practice in Germany is to have a second line or at the very least a throw line installed as a rescue back up. I always thought any ISA open comp I entered was much fun & informative with the rescue part of the comp as a part of it for us all to brush up on our skills in somthing that we all hope NEVER to practice for real!
