  1. Have you got a pulley? Stick one on a sling with a mallion (£3-£4). It'll be safer than a crab and a better bend radius for your rope
  2. You're probably the only one! Sorry for prolonging your time in the rain!
  3. I set the fastest time i believe, just didn't do as well in points
  4. Been a great weekend though, despite the weather! I didn't get a chance to thank all the organisers before leaving but cheers guys! :thumbup:I'll see you all next year (if not before!)
  5. Give me a few days to get hold of people and I'll see what I can do. If I don't let you know, remind me,i have a terrible memory!
  6. Good luck mate, keep an eye on the arb employment websites. I know guys in australia, sweden and norway,i can ask them if it's ok to put you in touch if that's any help to you?
  7. True thievery! Im changing everything now....
  8. :sneaky2:Not to derail but trees-did you copy my location tag?
  9. Any news on the minibus to the arb show?

  10. Cirencester. Should be a bus load of us eastern arbs going!
  11. Looking smart, I reckon I'll be getting the fungi app. Good work steve
  12. Hi mate, do you have any of those sheaves for the rope wrench left?

    Cheers, Dan

  13. Probably not, but it could have long term effects on everyone else. People being quoted a tenner an hour may start to think thats the going rate and not want to pay "proper" rates, regardless of how you explain it to them
  14. Looking good. Any news on the Unicender?
  15. I wouldn't laugh too soon, they're bound to get work from someone. Work that you could have done....
  16. Though I haven't properly worked an SJ, I'd still go for the LJ. IMO it has infinite control, don't get why you think otherwise Joe, just takes time to get used to, as with all gear. The top pull positioning with the LJ is fantastic, and still possible if you ever decide to go down the rope wrench road. Mostly though, it's probably personal preference. See if you can get to a rec climb near you and try both
  17. Yeah was good, managed a traverse that I didn't think was possible, then with the single line would've been set up perfect to work the next tree. I'm LOVING the wrench/lockjack. Are you going to the cutters and climbers?

  18. That series 1 is a beauty, is it 80" or a later 88?
  19. A few indeed though not sure what you're planning. You can't climb with a gri gri really, as there is no real neutral gear, so pantin/footlocking would be out of the question unless using some sort of rads system. Though then you'd be 3:1 and defeating the point of SRT. You could belay/descend on a gri gri, I'm not sure of the safety/rating for using it as a sole work positioning system. A gri gri wouldn't need a wrench as it works fine on its own for belaying. I use my grillon singled out with an add in prussik for anchorage when climbing above my anchor point, this works nicely for me as you get the full length of rope, as opposed to half of it if you were using side d's etc. You just have to be gentle with the release, otherwise it can be a bit jerky. It's best if you have one with the additional belay handle. Does that make sense Andrew?
