  1. Have tired a few times to download it but it always crashes part way through installlation so have given up with it
  2. Our original mountfield with briggs and stratton engine was brilliant would cut anything, start regardless of how long it had been stood and lasted for years, it was replaced by a larger rear wheel driven mountfield with the tecumseh engine which was a pile of carp if it stood anytime it had to be easy started to get it into life and was right numb heavy machine, have'nt had one since
  3. Mate of mine bought one of those off one of his customers couple of months back, had been sat over a year put battery on it and away it went, think he gave £1100 for it, but does need new back tyres and some tidying
  4. Did that he doesnt want it now Did that too always do on big stuff, had no contact and not sent deposit so he's just been UPI'd as its 5 days since auction end so at least get my fees back
  5. Raining steady at mo, got yellow warnings for rain toda agin though according to met office, so best check drains when get to yard as flooded one of the sheds the other day
  6. You can also insert fence/landscaping/drainage........etc in place of tree
  7. Its just how its done round here you usually put the strainer 2-3 ft from the gate post and rail back to it, I have tried putting them closer together but have had trouble with stones forcing one or the other over on the skew
  8. Yeah I've had them in the past usually I'd just brush it off but as I need the money urgent to sort out a vehicle its peed me off a tad
  9. Because you rail between the gatepost and the strainer post else the animals wander out the gap between them
  10. Sorry need to vent, why do people just ignore what you put in your listings regarding payments and collection etc! to cut a long story short the cambelt went on my van last week, decided due to its current value its not worth repairing so put it on ebay, to get some money back out of it to put towards new work vehicle, usual terms contact within 24hrs and collect within 5 days, have'nt heard a squeak from winning bidder followed up today when my drum mower I was selling finished only to get a message off the buyer saying hi I'm on holiday so can't collect for 3 weeks! then to top it off put in an offer on a discvery got refused did this 3 times eventually offering the asking price still got refused! emialed the seller for him to reply theres someone coming to look at it tomorrow so I'm refusing all offers til they've been, is it just me or would it not have been common curtesy to message and explain rather than keep messing about, am slightly fuming and still no further forward with replacement work vehicle at mo
  11. Yep they do that on our road, all pinch it to grit thier drives and then theres none left to grit the hill down to the main road, then they moan they can't get out or in
  12. Given how wet fence posts are when you fetch them from my local supplier I have my doubts that the 15 year stuff will last that long, I know thier standard stuff will last 6-7 years if your lucky, I have had one that rotted clean off in 3 years, yet we have fencing done 26 years ago when we moved to the farm and if you take the posts out thier as sound as the day they went in, I'm looking at using metal gateposts where possible so dnt have the problem with rotting gateposts pulling over the rest of the fence
  13. Daily driver was my Escort van until last week when the cambelt let go about 1/4 mile from the house on the way to the yard so after some quick searching picked up an S reg peugeot 406 2.1 diesel saloon for £400 as a stop gap, its that or the wifes 1.4 daewoo lanos, now looking for a landy again
  14. Depends how much shiny kit you've got on finance
  15. Well guess those 3 would have helped work up an appetite I made do with chicken & mayo with bit of salt and pepper on oaty bread and a yoghurt to make me feel healthy
  16. Have'nt seen any for a while, year before last they were coming up our drive every night, trouble is the drive is gated off for the dogs to go out on so first we knew about the hedgehogs was alot of commotion followed by me seeing a hedgehog fly past the kitchen door as I opened it to see what was happening, apparently my oldest whippet bitch doesnt like them to much aafter that had to keep a pair of gloves by kitchen door and check drive before dogs went out
  17. Always expect that way you can only be dissapointed
  18. Also from memory landrover continued to fit 200's for a while after the changeover to 300's mostly for export and also thye built some 3 door discos after 96 when they were supposed to be discontinued and all be five doors, easiest way to spot a 300 is the constant squeaking from the serpentine belt when its running
  19. I've run landrovers of all shapes and ages since I was 17 with a couple of short breaks, tried the hilux, thier gutless for towing and useless off road unless got plenty of weight in the back to give it traction, used my dads mitsubishi l200 for a year while I didnt have a landy not bad on towing but would wheelspin from standing start if you had good load on and reasonable of road though towing with it makes a landy v8 look economical, do like the look of the new isuzu and have got good warranty and if the fuel consumption figures are accurate doesnt look bad but end of the day I think I'm getting another landy at the end of the day nothing else is so adaptable and can take the abuse they get and keep going, the fact that over 50% of landys ever built are still on the road says it all
  20. Grass hopper today, seem to be everywhere at mo on warm days
  21. First garden job for a long time today, had to strim and mow an overgrown lawn on a rental property and do bit of tidy up, doesnt look that steep but I was nearly horizontal and pushing with the balls of my feet when mowing up hill, mind have got a nice little tree job out of it and possibly also a lleylandii reduction out of the plumber was working there too
  22. As far as I remember it was all pretty straight forward, only thing I had to do was go to my local town hall to fill out a form too as Mrs was living in north wales and me in Derbyshire, other wise pay your money and away to go and could only seat about 40 people so meant could leave out a few from each side on that basis
  23. Very true on both counts
  24. The only time there was real money in logs was when I used to get the timber cut out when hedgelaying as perks of the job, soon as you start buying it in, it brings the margin right down, I do buy in as I need firewood for my own use so so sell to few regulars to cover the costs of production, as an old woodsman told me long time ago firewood is a hard way to make a living
  25. I stand corrected not spotted anything interesting today but will keep my eyes peeled
