  1. oyster mushroom? porcelain mushroom? merip in its deadwood feeder form?
  2. my real name is princess consuiela banana-hammock. but its a bit too long to put as a username here
  3. i second that, all my petzl stuff seems superior to everything else, the carabiners just feel better in a way. i check everything as much as i can, i have some of the DMM sentinel carabiners, bought two to use purely on my saw strop, now i just use one on the end and clip the ring onto a petzl caritool. dont use them for climbing though. the petzl ones i find clean easier.
  4. After really dirty job I clean them with brake cleaner. As that evaporates! Then wither graph powder or wd. Depends which is closer to hand!
  5. Wd40 works well too. Robarb had a sticky crab that wouldn't even attempt to close. Bit of a squirt with wobbly-d and it was springing back shut within a minute!
  6. It's gone up to eleventy nine now
  7. I've got a chipper in my sights. Depending how well we do on Christmas trees this year. To stop Cameron and his goonies taking profits in tax we will spend it on a new chipper hopefully! Wouldnt mind a 660!
  8. I got my airstreams at the apf. Love them! Not found a single gripe with them yet. I'm between a size 9/10 so bought a size 9 and I prefer it the slightly smaller fit. Feel more like trainers. Can't comment on the zermatts.
  9. What sizes are you after? I may be able to help.
  10. We own and run Christmas tree land. We currently have about 23000 growing in the field. We deal with large trees each year averaging about 25-40ft. We import noble fir, nordman fir, we grow our Fraser fir, import norway spruce and scots pine. We shift thousands each year. We did have a booking online section but sold that side a few years ago. We get fairly busy!
  11. you are indeed lucky for that one. if that had gone into your tendon then its pretty much game over from the climbing and being active point of view for a while! it was like that for me today, a horrible hedge with all sorts of old dead growth from previous 'overzealous pruning' and i just wanted to cut everything in my way! there was some bits that where just a bit close to me, one piece of ded wood was poking me in the love spuds and the thought crossed to cut that but then thought hmmm. no thanks id rather have 2 of these!
  12. Yet you still see people just using normal steelies! How exactly did you do that?
  13. i would definatly find some way of bracing it with a winch, if you can gingerly get to the top and attach a strop or even one half way and winch it back and keep it solid then it could be done. Like others said, bugger the greenhouse, cheaper to replace a few panes and maybe just tap the frame with a hammer than to faff missing it all, to have something go through anyway! to take that down alone id charge at least £200, if it was still standing! i reckon its roots were buggered when the foundations for the shed were put in!
  14. I too like the little canon ixus. I have a 750 or 700 can't remember which. Either way it's a cool camera. There's almost nothing sticking out of the shell so it can't snap buttons off. The screen is encased too so you can't press it and crack it. Very tough little camera and takes a good photo!
  15. No it's more of a 'saw-offer'
  16. Good start!
  17. If my blower lost half a ton it would float away and take my truck with it!
  18. I know. It was my dads idea to strengthen it. Will ask him if he thought to send it back first. Which he should have done. It was in Oxfordshire which is a trek to take back. If it bends again I'll make sure it goes back!
  19. From what I was told it bent as it was splitting a rather solid beech log. It's been reinforced now. I think it twisted on the grain as it was pressing down so that's how it bent. If something else goes wrong with it I'll make sure the dealer is notified!
  20. well the swapped up/down isnt an issue, coudlt it be a legal safety feature possibly? otherwise it would have been built down for down and up for up! we will have to see how well it splits, theres a little pile already and my dad did it and said it worked well, ill have a go at the weekend and give a review
  21. it is very pointy stevie. it runs well on the little deere behind it, its bigger brother is down at the docks at the grit store for the winter, or most of it, so it will have to run on that for now. ed: it is a down for up and up for down lever on it
  22. copying us notherners eh? id go, i have relatives over in windsor which is an hour from there. But ive got assignments in from the 6th-10th and the weekend will probably be occupied! Plus i dont think the boss will allow me a pass out for the day!
  23. if hed gone for them he probably would have got the sharp end and ran away like a softie!
  24. The lads here on saturday saw it arrive, its been tested since then and the splitting head bent going through some hard beech. So its being made tougher! nice ebay sale, to finally crack through our logpile!
  25. thats a stuntfell if i ever saw one
