  1. Try aire valley tree care. I know the boss. He's a good guy. He's based near the airport
  2. Cool. Do I need to adjust the carb to the new muffler then? Im visiting my dealer tomorrow so will ask what price it is for him. If he can't beat that then I'll get it from us but postage may be a killer.
  3. something like this? https://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=QA+11281+400616&catID=389 or this? STIHL CHAINSAW 064 066 MS660 MUFFLER COVER on eBay!
  4. 660 with 36" bar. makes me look short! Im about 5'8'' ish kev your not much taller!
  5. Wow they look good. I don't suppose you do mail order mods? I'd be interested in a more opened up muffler for both my 260 and 660. Doesn't need to be like those 084s. Something with a little less restriction would do great!
  6. I'll let you have a go of my monster saw that growls when you get too close if you are man enough?
  7. Where exactly in north west? You mentioned you were at Myerscough. I travel there 3 days a week for the FdSc course. I may be able to find odd days but can't promise much ATM
  8. Additions to my lockup
  9. Ed get a 260. Easy to play with and still half a real saw. Just a little one. I'd happily let you play with mine for a day if you wanted
  10. A big saw on a small bar is handy as you don't strain the saw and hence use less fuel. But a small saw is easier to work with. It's a compromise. I used to have an 18" on my 260 because that's all I had. I likes the weight of it. I've now changed to a 13" because it's even better for snedding. Ive got a 20" coming for the 660 which will be the bigger saw for felling and bigger discing up. That then leaves me with a set of 3 saws. All I need. I'll be getting a 25" for the 660 too as I get some site clearance jobs from time to time and a bigger bar is handy.
  11. Sorry to derail but I prefer to tile around my bath. Easier to clean!
  12. I've looked through the exploded manual of the 660 and there are a few models that had bigger spikes ie the magnum-r and the arctic. Might get some and have a change round which model are those off if you know?
  13. A 660 with a 13" bar hmmm. Can you get 3/8 in 13"?
  14. I've looked at some exploded diagrams and it seems as though it might just fit. It's gonna look ace! Tom it's a Sunday. I'd done everything I needed to do in my container and decided to have a mess round!
  15. I like the gelert one. Same design as the north face with the same material and about 30% of the price! I have a red silver bull one too, huge bag, but the stitching bust on the underside which holds the rucksack straps. All the usual suppliers sell gelert bags. But I found eBay to be a few quid cheaper overall. Nearly £10 compared to some places.
  16. didnt think so its plastic, dont want to be drilling just for a bit of fun! the normal side casings are metal and are all the same size, so fit together ok. cant wait to have a go though, i think the original ones will fit ok.
  17. ill have a go tomorrow the outer case is different to others so it may not fit both sets
  18. I'm gonna buy some. Don't know whether to go for the double set or just one. As it's mainly a snedding saw now with it's little bar. The double looks the dawgs! Excuse the pun haha
  19. This isn't overkill at all 660 dawgs on a 260 with a 13" bar. Its a slow day
  20. Weve had some. We used a mistblower to treat them and it seems to have sorted it. We still lose a couple trees as with any crop Our trees are grown in our own fields. We live on a farm so we utilise the space. The tops will be trimmed this month. They get done every year. They are all reaching 7ft now. They were all planted in 2001!
  21. Best toy ever
  22. I prefer the manual labour side to the studying side tbh! I'll be having a BSc by next summer hopefully. Won't go much further. No need for me.
  23. I'll go for the free option too! I can't remember what I searched. But I found it through google and had seen it a few times so decided to join. That was last November and I haven't looked back!
  24. Nice idea with the 2011. I bet the Hoover loves you! We grow Fraser fir. Had a few hundred out this year. Had one in the house and it barely dropped a needle. We've recently planted 20000 more trees. Fraser and nordman. With a view to plant another 20000 over the next year. I never recommend spruce as an indoor tree. Way to happy to shed it's load! Here's some of our frasers.
  25. A lot of the desire over apples devices is through good marketing and making them look desirable, the laptops are a single piece of cast aluminium which makes them look good! I don't own apple computers but have a friend who owns both apple laptops and a windows desktop. His files interchange just fine over computers. It would just kill apples Market share if they were completely dependent on their own file types. You can get the same programs for both pc and mac now too. I use my iPhone for everything. I can now be completely dependent from my pc. I an check all three email accounts, facebook, buy and sell on eBay, surf the Internet, listen to music, play games. I can do everything my pc can. And a lot easier!
