Just seen your post about wood in Milton Keynes. I live in MK and need wood for my stoves. Is there any still available? I have a landy and a small trailer. So can collect. How much would you be looking for the wood ?

Cheers Mark

5. We use an ikea bag :-) carries a fair amount of weight as well. But can't leave it next to fire, else it will melt :-0
6. Id say willow. Burnt a lot myself and it looks the same. Quite yellow when fresh cut .

Willow

I've burnt loads of willow in our stoves . Yes it burns quicker than some , but it gives off good heat . I cut mine to about 10" and they will season in around 6-9 months .
8. Hi , sorry to hijack ya thread . But if there's any willow going I would be happy with some . Am in Milton Keynes . Have vehicle to collect if needs be . Let me know if any is available ? Cheers Mark

10. Hi , I could pick some up ? I have a Landy and a trailer . Wouldn't be big enough for all of it . But would make a dent in it :-) If this is ok I will inbox my mobile number . Cheers Mark
11. I am always happy to take anything that is a pain for people to take back to yard .Im in Milton Keynes and am happy to collect :-) Cheers Mark
12. I burn what I can get my hands on . I find that stuff like willow burns damn hot but fast . But in a small living room , who cares ? Don't have far to walk . Was given a whole very large conifer this year . So will see how that compares next winter . If its dry I'm happy , as are the dogs
13. I would gladly work for firewood :-) I got a load off a great guy week or so ago . Have said I would do him some photography in return fr the wood . He's about to set up a new website , so we are both happy . I would also cut and spilt all day for wood as payment :-)
14. For prob last three years I have burnt mainly willow in our stove . Gives off great heat. Yes it's not as long burning as harder stuff , but I only have to get up and move a few feet to fill the fire . Which is fine apart from when I have had a few cans :-)
15. Hi , would this include delivery to private address ? It would be a pallet at a time . MK13 postcode Thanks Mark
16. Hi , I could collect some . I have a Landy and a trailer . Not sure if it would take all of it . Would this be a problem ? Cheers Mark
17. I am gonna guess the clue to location is in the title of post
18. Sent a newbie for a fluorescent phalopian tube . The woman behind the counter wasn't to happy !
19. You could contact your local council or wood trust . I am in Milton Keynes and our parks trust sell 5tn loads for around £230 . All ready for you to cut and split . In my opinion , good value for money . You just need private ground for them to deliver , as wont deliver to roadside . I now ha e someone who is allowing me to have a load dropped on their horsey field . So now a matter of waiting my turn and keeping the chain sharp :-) I have also had free stuff from a tree surgeon . It was knarley stuff that was no good to them . But for me was ok to cut up in garden etc . As with other poster who now does repairs on chainsaws . I have done some family portraits in return for firewood , as I'm a photographer . They were happy and so am I :-) Cheers Mark
20. Depending where in bucks , I would be interested in some . It's for personal use so couldn't handle all of it . Pm me if any good to you . Cheers mark
21. Thanks Ewan . I will give him a call this week . Cheers Mark
22. Thanks guys . I have looked at parks trust before but they won't deliver to us :-( but I didn't know you could collect . So will get in touch and see how that works out. Need to find a local tree surgeon who is willing to flog a days worth Of wood from a job if I can't get any from PT Cheers Mark
23. I am looking for around a tonne of wood . I'm not to bothered what it is as it all burns once dry :-) Any local arbs able to help out ? I am able To collect as have a small trailer and a Landy which I can fill . Cheers Mark
24. Take the trailer load of wood , dry it out and burn it . What ever it is is free and any dry wood will burn . You don't have to stick to just hardwoods in stoves . Lots of people turn their nose up at willow ! I burn loads of it . Burns quicker , but gives off wonderful heat . So , as long as its dry , it will burn :-) Mark
