    Willow

I have been burning mainly willow for last 3 yrs . Lots of people turn their nose up at it . But I think it's great . If room is really cold , light the stove and crank it right open . The room is warm and toasty in no time . I have at times mixed with some stuff like oak , Hawthorne , cherry and apple . This year I have some ash and beech . Yes they burn longer , but I don't think they kick out as much heat ? Mark
  2. Thanks for the wood Dan , should last a good few weeks ! Bit hairy driving home on the second trip :-) If you ever need any more shifting ( maybe closer to MK ) let me know . Cheers Mark
  3. Yes steve I did . But I had to go to hospital today for injections into my back . Been a bit sore . Will call you tomorrow . Cheers Mark

  6. Only for personal use Nick . I know you deliver trailer loads . But sadly I don't have land to cope with this amount . Thanks for replying though . Prob looking at around 5 tonne ? Cheers Mark
  7. Anyone able to supply cordwood in MK ? Not fussed what it is as it all burns and keeps me toasty when dry :-) Cheers Mark
  8. Hi everyone . I saw a very suspicious vehicle driving round my area today , New Bradwell , Milton Keynes . As I drive a defender with a 2" lift , I sit up higher than most vehicles round here. This vehicle was driving round my area for a few hrs . And as I passed it , in amongst the scrap in the back were 3 or 4 stihl chainsaws !! Bit of an odd thing to pick up for scrap ? I did know of a gang of arbs working near me and went to check if they had had anything lifted . Luckily they hadn't . So if anyone one here working in MK area today had any gear stolen . Drop me a PM as I have some if the vehicle details . It might me all above board , but did look a tad dodgy to me !!! Cheers Mark
  9. Sounds to me like you are burning wet wood ? I am burning a good mixture of dry stuff at moment . But when I first kick the stove off next morning , I put a couple of bits if dry willow in . Dont last long but burns hot and cleans all the rubbish off . Once a month j let it go out and then use a stovax gel glass cleaner . Had the tub for over 4yrs now and still got over half a bottle . It can be left on for 5 mins , then use a kitchen wet wipe . Followed by some newspaper to dry it off . Nice clean glass Mark
  10. Can you give a price for haulage to milton Keynes please . Thanks Mark
  11. We have a Brunel 2cb , had it for about 5 yrs now and its an awsome stove . Doesn't use much fuel and gives of great heat . If its really cold outside we have both stoves going , Stovax in living room and another non well known one in the dining room (which opens out to the stairs ) This one then heats the whole of upstairs .So between them we never have to use our gas heating :-) I think that with any half decent modern stove you can get good efficiency and heat from them once you know how they opperate best :-) Mark
  12. I am going to be upgrading my Nikon D200 and the vertical grip within the next few months (prob too far away if you were interested) . Its a awsome camera and i am only selling as i will be getting a D3X .It will be boxed and is in good condition . Everything works as it should .It has some signs of wear , mainly slight shine where its been in my hand or been put in and out of back pack .I would be looking for something like £350 for it . But as i say prob not till end Nov at earliest . Cheers Mark
  13. Sorry to hear of your loss Might be worth putting some posts on various landy forums , see if someone has seen it somewhere . There is a dedicated forum to flag up stolen and recovered landies .But i cant remember the name of it Hope you either get it back in one piece or insurance pay up pronto !!! Mark
  14. Hi , i replied to your pm with my phone number .Had a message saying your inbox was full . Just incase you think i am ignoring you Cheers Mark

  16. As per title , i am looking for any arb arisings that might be for sale in my area .I live in Milton Keynes (north part ) but would be willing to travel within a reasonable distance .This is just for my own use to keep our 2 stoves going . I am looking to get wood for 2012 as i have good dry stuff for this coming winter . I am not too bothered what wood it is , as when dry it all burns .Plus if i have to get up and down a few more times in the night to fill stove , all the better for helping me loose some weight It would be ok for anyone who is local to tip at my house as i have direct access to run the wood down the side of house into the garden . I wont be able to take huge bits of wood as i would have to man handle it to rear of property:001_rolleyes: I have a landy and a smallish trailer , so could collect smaller sized bits . If anyone can help , please pm me contact details . Many thanks Mark
