  9. I have been predicting for awhile now that a new crime will emerge ... Tree Theft.... due to the price of firewood it is surely going to become attractive to the low lifes to just go and chop a tree down in the night .. its not rocket science is it ... I`m kidding I`m kidding

  12. Maybe not for you but when I am working outside I rub generous amounts of vaseline into my hands then put latex gloves on with my work gloves over those.
  13. There is an art to using a maul ... its important to use the weight of the maul in the swing to do the chopping and not to try and drive it through the wood by force ... if you get what I mean.
  14. Maul every time but you do sometimes need an axe to get it started .... although I use neither now just the splitter and saw...... after months of using the maul you end up ready for the knackers yard ... stiff neck, aching shoulders, bad back, dodgy hip, bad elbows etc etc etc
  15. I noticed that ... it gets lonely in those woods:biggrin:
  16. Probably not the same ones:biggrin:
  17. I kept getting wasps flying around in the house then I discovered that I am bringing them in out of the wood store under the bark etc. I was stung a week ago whilst picking logs out in the dark. Also seeing alot of butterflys sitting on the logs in the outside store.
  18. Here we go again .... rain rain bl**dy rain ...will I ever get this wood into the field for storage.... bought some forks for my tractor so I could just carry the bags down the field but the grounds just turning to mush.... probably end up taking it down in wheelbarrows whilst the tractor sits there
  19. A friend of mine knew a doorman who caught a burglar in his house .. kicked seven shades out of him and threw him out .. the burglar went to the police and complained and they turned up on the doormans doorstep .. the doorman just looked bemused and said he had never seen him before in his life .. as the policeman walked away he turned around and said `good answer mate`
