  1. Thanks. I was thinking just about 2 ton ish.
  2. Just been looking through that and trying to assess the risks of buying second hand as opposed to new.
  3. I`m thinking about buying a tippimg trailer to use purely off road for moving logs around. I will be pulling it with a John Deere 955 (35hp) any advice greatly appreciated.
  4. I`m after something thats rigid. I am hoping to extend my Dutch Barn in spring and it is going to be very high from floor to ceiling and I was thinking about stacking in rigid containers to utilise more of the height.
  5. Where do you get the 1m3 crates and how much? What premium price do you charge for your wood?
  6. So my back, knee joints, elbows, hip, shoulders, will all be Knac***ed but at least I will be rich
  7. Well thats different and as a result I can see an imminent return to holidays in the Maldives
  8. It doesn`t really work like that though does it ... your comparing unseasoned ton with seasoned cubic metre
  9. My philosophy to ... I`m doing some property speculation which just involves picking the phone up a few times a week and waiting for estate agents to sell it, so meanwhile I am accumulating a store of logs to start a sideline business from home rather than sit and twiddle my thumbs .. and I enjoy the hard work .. I`m even building a barn specifically for this.
  10. Like you say `a lot of hard grafting` aim for a minimum £100 per cube.
  11. I reckon he must be an Arbtalk member looking at the spelling

    Weather

Still lots of snow here just outside Derby and still snowing but when this melts its back to the `Mud` thread so if you need to move anything do it now whilst the ground is hard. I`m busily moving logs down the field for storage.
  13. Went to see Avatar last night and as the tree was coming down I found myself thinking .. is that softwood? hardwood? ... wondering how many cubic metres .. how long to season ...... I think I need to get out more
  14. My thinking on the vented Barrow Bags is if you sell in summer the customer could just leave them in the bags to season and pay a refundable deposit on the bags.
  15. All this talk of Barrow Bags has prompted me to dig out one that I ordered to take a look at awhile ago.
  16. BAG Supplies :: Packaging Suppliers covering the UK
  17. What do you deliver the barrow bags in?
  18. I`m just accumulating stock at the moment but will more than likely sell it by the barrow bag. One thing I do know is that for all the hard work that goes into it it has to equate to around £100 per cube.
  19. and to give the cats a chance at any rats that might move in.
  20. Just what I`ve picked up from reading threads on the site about letting the air get under them.
