  1. Cool, I'll keep my eye out for some like that!
  2. Great! How come its rippled? Not heard of that before!
  3. I sharpen my silkies, got a feather file off amazon for £7. Once you've done it a few times its easy to get a super edge back. Worth having a go, it'll save you loads!
  4. Did mine with no powder (someone told me it effects the fibres), stuck it in a pillow case and turned down the spin one notch, came out lovely - and also drier than when it went in!
  5. That's beautiful!!
  6. I find super glue is real handy for cuts like those!
  7. Did you see the face on the tree in the last frame?
  8. Bit of a long vid. He says some things that sound like they could be true, but also some utter rubbish..... 2012 The TRUTH You're NOT Being TOLD Part 1 (Full Length 95min) - YouTube
  9. I used to work with grp, I would use 2000 wet and dry and then polish with a super fine cutting compound. It may be something to do with the glue though, spoke to a chap that sprays cars and vans and he said that he'd stripped a sigh written van back to the metal, resprayed and you could still see the lettering!!
  10. I have about 6 hours. I could have a little longer but I like to get up about an hour and a half to two hours before work, have a nice relaxed breakfast watching fishing, bike racing or something funny, no better way to start the day than laughing. No rush getting tools into car and always leave in plenty of time for wherever I'm working, can't stand being late, it's only happened a few times in my life and it's made me feel bad for a few days so try my darn-est it doesn't happen again! I do more often-than-not get to work a tad too early but always take a cup of tea with me and enjoy it listening to the radio outside in my car, or some folk are up anyway so have a brew with them and a chat and giggle. I'm never tired and always happy, best way to be:001_smile:
  11. I'll pop and say hi at the APF, can't make Joneses. Will also give your axe a good lob too:001_smile:
  12. Good point David, there were quite a few for oaks anyway, so I totally see what you mean by not adding more if it's not very common. Arbtalk's like a major extension to the app anyway, everything that's read is learnt, so will know that one for the future if I ever happen to stumble across it Cheers Geraint
  13. I tried to ID using the fungi app but couldn't by looking at what Oaks get. Maybe this could be put on as a future update?
  14. Ahhh bless, I was hoping Silky would get it!!

    Idea

I think your vt would get a battering. May be ok with one of those cinch things though?
  16. Funnily enough I think Aloe Vera's good for things like that!
  17. hahaha that made me laugh loads:lol:
  18. Had a nice day down at the lake, the fish were off but enjoyed it all the same. You could see loads of fish but they weren't feeding, just up at the surface not doing much. It was stupidly hot, it's down in a dip so not much wind, we got baked. When we were leaving in the morning i got the sun cream out and put it on the side.......and then forgot it! Pollie got really really really badly sunburnt, I did tell her to sit in the shade but she was enjoying the sun.....I don't think she's enjoying the badly swollen legs and not being able to walk now though haha!!
  19. I love floating biscuits, I find it one of the most exciting methods I've tried. Got a 23lb with is my pb from a boat lake in the middle of sheffield, you would have never have thought there was anything in there but went for a walk round one day and couldn't believe my eyes, about 10 or so good carp upto 30lb I would have said, free to fish as well!
  20. Cheers Tony, seen some of your fish so you must know what you're talking about!
  21. Cheers, I've got some crab liquid stuff to put in my ground-bait and pellets so will defo be giving that a go. I will take another rod with me to try and float some pellets if they are trying to rise and also have a go at what you said. I went for a walk round the other day and there was fish everywhere, seemed to be loads of big bream about a foot under the surface but didn't see any carp?
  22. Are there any good fisherpeople out there? I'm off to Howbrook Dam Sheffield tomorrow and would like a couple of tips please? The water holds carp, tench, bream, roach, chub, orf? and a few other little bits. Near the wall it's 20ft deep and about 5ft at the neck. With all this heat which end do you think I'd be better off going? I mainly fish using either a method feeder or a maggot feeder. As the wind is hot, should I just go to the end or side where it's blowing in my face? Cheers, Ger:001_smile:
  23. Hello Simon, hope things pick up for you soon........ that means that I'll get more work and I have nothing too haha! There's a chap just posted in the members area from Huddersfield that's said he's just had to sack one of his staff, it'd defo be worth giving him a ring! Probably shooting myself in the foot here cos I'm in the same boat, no work and skint, but you've got a kid and one on it's way soon so I suppose your need is greater than mine!! Good luck:001_smile:
  24. Fair play to one of the groundies, he was over there like a shot - if there had have been a bad cut, then every second counts:thumbup1:
  25. You soon get used to the three way, I find mine fine now. Probably better off not cutting yours up!
