  1. Hello bud, I'm free to give a hand on the ground if you need it? Will also have a go up the tree if you can't find anyone else to do it?
  2. Not got much left chap, those 'cyber' crisps don't come cheap you know:lol: Just about enough left for some 'micro' chips for tomorrow dinner......
  3. No worries chap, I'm up in Crookes so just across the valley from you:thumbup1:
  4. Cheers everyone:thumbup1: The Peroni's not come through Mark, could you send another...................only joking, it's was grand and darn refreshing too:thumbup: If you open your dvd drive you should find half a packet of crisps in there for ya...........
  5. Hello bud, I live in sheffield, away this weekend but got nothing to do next week, so if it's still there I could pop over and blast some off. Only got a 346 with an 18" bar on at the mo but it'll give you an idea of what a pro saw will do before you go and spend your money!
  6. Thanks bud. About 2 or 3 hours with clearing up and cups of tea. Took my time beasue I've not done anything like it before, and as Stevie said, I didn't want to be back on here showing off my cuts:001_smile: Everything went where i wanted it to go, nothing broken and the old lady was really happy too so all's good:001_smile:
  7. Hello there, all went well this morning:001_smile: Got it propped up with a ladder, then climbed half way up and tied it off to the conny on the left. After that I just climbed to the top taking brash off with silky and then came back down chogging with 200t. When I came down to take rope off and move ladder it sat back about a foot or so but then went back down when i got my weight on it again. It wobbled like a good un when I was at the top but was good fun. Couple of pics Thanks for all the help and cheers Mark for the good luck this morning:001_smile: .
  8. Splendid:thumbup: All's fine and dandy here too bud:001_smile:
  9. Cheers dude, will do:001_smile: Hope you're well and everything's tip top in your neck of the woods:thumbup1:
  10. Cheers for the idea but i have no scaffold to use. Know what I shall do tomorrow though, there's two long single metal ladders kicking around so I'm going to prop it up two thirds of the way along like a tripod and use the branches so they cant slip. also rope it off to the conny on the left just as a bit extra. Toss rope over, bounce on it to test and then just sneak up it cutting everthing off on way and chog on the way back down. Shouldn't take long once it's safe. Also put in £250 instead of £150 which was fine, so thanks for the extra money guys!
  11. Thanks for all the advice chaps, been a great help:thumbup1:
  12. yeah and it's not like I'm up against anyone else and under-cutting them loads, no one else is being asked.........unless I don't do it and then he'll have to pay the real price. At this moment in time whilst I'm still on the big learning curve I'd much rather be out working for and learning from someone else everyday than doing jobs by myself.
  13. Hmmm tea and scones (fastest cake in the world, one minute their there and the next minute their scone...........) Not really much to do for two people there but will keep you in mind if anything else pops up. I don't go looking for my own jobs normally, like working for other people, this one just came to me because it's my accountant. I have a cunning plan for this one now so I think all will be good:thumbup:
  14. I've not put in a price yet, that's just what i was thinking of. Will ask for a bit more if I do it. Thank for all your advice so far everyone.
  15. A bit under priced then I take it, don't normally do any pricing so not got a clue what to charge. I have been thinking that Stevie, but at the same time I could get one of the company's in I do a bit of work for, but nothing needs taking away, it's just getting it down. They are either going to just fell it or test and climb and I can do both of them. Totally skint too so the money's needed big time. I'm not mega silly though, I'll go and have another really good look on Friday morning when I'm ment to doing it and if I'm still unsure, I'll get someone else to have a look and do it.
  16. I told the chap I was going to ask you lot before i decided if i do it or not, glad I have! My options seem to be; Don't bother with it Move sheds, greenhouse and fell it. Just fell it anyway and take pic for stunt fell thread......tempting... Chuck a rope over it and bounce on it and if it does fall then that's just back to option 3 and if it doesn't, climb carefully. I think I'll do the chucking the rope but at the same time I'll stick a ladder under it to prop it up. Do you think charging £150 is ok?
  17. Ha ha, if you were just going to run it over with a mewp I may as well just fell it:lol:
  18. It's quite a bigish shed, with electric and new to the chap who owns it. The green house isn't that big. It's the chap who owns the other shed and green house that I'll be doing it for. The tree's in the garden of a real old lady that he's friends with. What other equiptment are you thinking of to dismantle it?
  19. Not really, they're only half the height of this one, been topped, it sticks out probably 10 to 15 foot past them.
  20. I did think that about the shed, it is touching it but there's no damage what-so-ever and it's bigger than it looks in the pic so would be quite a heavy tree. Difficult one isn't it!!
  21. There's no way of getting a mewp round to it, should have said.
  22. Hello everyone Little bit of advice please. I've been round to have a look at a 40 odd foot conny that's blown over and is now leaning on a shed. Here are a couple of pics Under it are a greenhouse and another shed. Where you can see the roots it seems quite soft. Questions are, would you climb this to take it down and if not, how would you do it? Thought it would be worth asking about this one because I've not had to do one like it before. I know it's hard for you to say from a picture but what's just your first thought? Thanks Ger .
  23. No worries bud. Make sure you check out the range before you buy. Have fun
