  1. I understood that you don't need a tacho within 100km of base and that you were within 100km of base so how could they do you for not having a tacho? I would be getting some legal advice on that if it was me.
  2. I'm probably missing the point here but how can you be prosecuted for an offence you have yet to commit? In criminal law, you need the intention (mens rea) and the illegal action (actus reus) to have committed the offence.
  3. How can you be done for planning to go outside your zone? It's hardly conspiracy. Thought crime, perhaps?
  4. Hiding from Billy Goat Gruff.
  5. If you are on Facebook then it would be worth you joining the Woodalert and Free firewood pages.
  6. Crown Trees near Ongar were looking for a climber recently. Ask for Steve.
  7. It's amazing how many people slag off Chamberlain without having the knowledge to realise that without his appeasement of Hitler Britain would have been going to war with an army and air force that had been massively underfunded for many years. The world had seen what kit the Germans had thanks to the Spanish Civil war and Britain was looking at facing that with very few tanks and an airforce consisting mainly of biplanes. Thanks to Chamberlain, Britain managed to rearm to the level it did in the time his piece of paper bought.
  8. Good old Shelby, the Deep South's answer to Mendiplogs.
  9. It's certainly helped with your chronic shyness
  10. Showing your age there, Mr B.
  11. That's the important bit. If somebody is going to mess you around, don't be out of pocket.
  12. You are definitely the sensibliest, bigley style.
  13. Balls, you're much older than that.
  14. I think you'll find that's 70s tv and radio celebs you're thinking of, Mark.
  15. It was running fine when used last then it was put away in the shed (which burned down).
  16. If you're using a brushcutter all day, it's going to affect your hands through vibration as you aren't getting the breaks that you would do when you are using a chainsaw. If I remember correctly, the official recommended period of time for using one is very low at less than an hour per day.
  17. For the minimal amount of cost involved in raising an invoice, it would be worth the effort just to put the wind up them a little. You never know, you might get lucky. If they refused, I would make a few noises about them intentionally obtaining services by deception, ie getting you to quote for little more than their own amusement.
  18. Of course, if you don't advertise that your quotes are free of charge then there's nothing to stop your invoicing for your time.
  19. Meindl Woodwalkers or Haix Protector Pro, but I'm strictly a ground dweller.
  20. Can't guarantee them being mutually exclusive though.
  21. That's ok until you have a situation involving a possible spinal injury where you don't want to be moving somebody around to remove their lid to get to a dressing.
  22. It can also be flushed out of the wound by an arterial bleed far more easily than the gauze.
  23. You think your way, I'll think mine.
