  1. I think you'll find that's 70s tv and radio celebs you're thinking of, Mark.
  2. It was running fine when used last then it was put away in the shed (which burned down).
  3. If you're using a brushcutter all day, it's going to affect your hands through vibration as you aren't getting the breaks that you would do when you are using a chainsaw. If I remember correctly, the official recommended period of time for using one is very low at less than an hour per day.
  4. For the minimal amount of cost involved in raising an invoice, it would be worth the effort just to put the wind up them a little. You never know, you might get lucky. If they refused, I would make a few noises about them intentionally obtaining services by deception, ie getting you to quote for little more than their own amusement.
  5. Of course, if you don't advertise that your quotes are free of charge then there's nothing to stop your invoicing for your time.
  6. Meindl Woodwalkers or Haix Protector Pro, but I'm strictly a ground dweller.
  7. Can't guarantee them being mutually exclusive though.
  8. That's ok until you have a situation involving a possible spinal injury where you don't want to be moving somebody around to remove their lid to get to a dressing.
  9. It can also be flushed out of the wound by an arterial bleed far more easily than the gauze.
  10. You think your way, I'll think mine.
  11. Even if you can't doesn't mean you shouldn't.
  12. Really sad to hear this news. Hope you and yours are coping ok.
  13. That's probably the reason.
  14. Hope he makes a swift and complete recovery.
  15. I've found the Royal Navy goretex to be the hardest wearing, followed by the Army stuff and then the RAF kit.
  16. Small personal kit and a couple of Israeli bandages. Celox comes under the banner of 'unofficial kit but the brown and smelly has hit the fan so I'll use whatever will help'. Same as CATs. You will probably need a whistle as well.
  17. Have a read of 'Brighton Rock', Timon. The natives adopted the practice a long time ago.
  18. Could be worse, mate. You could have just driven all the way to Theydon Bois to find that the ride on mower won't bloody start. Thank Christ it didn't even get off the trailer.
  19. Tried it on my phone and managed to read that page at last. Not sure it was worth the wait though.
  20. I sometimes have a problem with not seeing the last page in a thread but not once the thread rolls onto the next page. I can get page 452 and 454 but not 453?
  21. No change with page 453, mate.
  22. What a relief! I thought there was a problem with the forum.
  23. For some reason I can't access page 453 of the 'Making the news today' thread. All other pages and threads are fine.
  24. I'd mix a few Poplars in as well for the fluff factor.
  25. I can remember a job where you and Rich did just that but you were S/E.
