    That would work. We normally use the rings to build a retaining wall and split them next summer when you start bagging. By the way, watch out for rats under the pallets because it is a ready-made home for them. We have the Hannibal Lecter of the cat world in our yard.

    I should have asked but I'm assuming they are relatively green? As long as you aren't expecting to shift them this year, they should be fine. If you are planning on putting a tarp over them, make sure there is still plenty of airflow around them or you will end up with a load of mildew on them.

    Somebody gave me a much meatier version than that one Xmas, consisting of a length of chain with 2 webbing loops for your hands. I still have it somewhere. I think Blacks used to sell them.
