  1. Yes, but before he ate it he was just known as Winnie
  2. It looks like one of those barrows they use for remote bomb investigation.
  3. You can always use the Citizens Advice Bureau, seek a pro bono legal service or if you have legal cover on your car insurance, that may cover it.
  4. If he has paid you under the minimum wage, he has the choice of admitting it or back paying your tax and NI contributions. You, however, have the perfect defence in that seeing as you received less than minimum wage for the hours you worked, you automatically assumed he was making the necessary deductions from your wages
  5. Had to actually do a letterbox cut as part of the CS31 assessment just recently.
  6. Fair point, BBB. Just because you haven't seen/signed a contract doesn't mean he can wriggle out of being your employer rather than a contractor.
  7. Might be worth having someone you trust there when you give him the receipts, NOT to put the frighteners on him but as a witness to make him think twice about his attitude. He's more likely to wind his neck in a bit when he sees someone else there.
  8. You lot are like kids with toys I'm only jealous
  9. First of all, commiserations on getting involved with someone like that. I know from personal experience how difficult a situation it is, and it always seems unfair when it's you that ends up out of work because of it. It sounds to me like either the taxman is nipping at his heels or he is getting close to the self assessment deadline and is panicking. If you are that concerned about receipts, just trawl back through your bank statements but when you write him a receipt, put down the hours you worked for it too. Looking to the future, plug yourself on here and go for any jobs available when you see them. Good luck mate
  10. It would have been a pile of thin air if I knew where it was
  11. That is a great hinge. Did you have any timber left when you got there this morning?
  12. Unfortunately, thanks to ambulance chasing lawyers, it is safer to assume that everybody is hard of thinking.
  13. Excellent gecko/salamander(?) shots, and nice to see other people use a Kelly kettle as well. Looks fantastic over there
  14. Got a few spare days on my hands, starting tomorrow(Friday 09/10/09) and running into next week(Monday, Thursday and Friday) and so am looking for work to fill them. I have CS30, have studied CS31 but not passed yet, have a clean pre '97 licence, a current first Aid certificate and my own PPE. I'm looking for work as a groundie, landscaper, doing firewood, anything in that line and I am a grafter. Hope someone is interested in putting something my way. Cheers! Alan (felixthelogchopper)
  15. Lucky you! It was peeing down in Essex all day. Luckily, the only things I had to do were uni in the morning and getting rid of 2 conifers from my parents front garden
  16. Slept through yesterday, Andy?
