  1. We sorted out a rotted, hung-up pop for the council the other week which would hit a garage either side if it rolled off the ash it was sitting on. The olds in both houses brought us tea all day, and at one one point we even had 2 cups each on the go
  2. I got a couple of good, cheap, stainless flasks from IKEA when being dragged round there by she who must be obeyed lol I always give them a fill with boiling water first to match sure the flask is hot. My drink of choice is black tea with a few wedges of lemon, which is good on two counts, namely that I love it and the rest of the crew can't stand it, apart from Arbogrunt
  3. Ooops, just saw it come up as an unread post and didn't look at the date
  4. I'll chuck a couple of quid in too. We're all only one step away from it. Can somebody on here a bit more tech-savvy than me sort a collection out?
  5. No, you can't have the logs! would save a lot of time wasted
  6. As you would be administering it as a First Aider, you would be classed as a "Good Samaritan" and so immune from prosecution. Also, Celox is a haemostatic agent rather than a drug or medicine. Personally, I would rather take the chance of some jobsworth getting upset than watch a friend or colleague bleed out in front of me.
  7. Good luck mate, I know it feels like a real struggle. I have been there myself recently and count myself lucky to have found a place with a great firm. Keep plugging away and I'm sure you will get sorted. You are certainly in the right place to plug yourself and make new contacts.
  8. Nooo! Dubbin rots the stitching, Nikwax is perfect for what you want.
  9. Give us an idea of how much you want?
  10. Not easy to find in the back of your van though, is it?
  11. He should still have a lid on if there is a climber working above him, and at least type Cs if he is starting the saw after fuelling it up. Or perhaps he was just working in the area?
  12. What a pleasant change today was after the weather and mardy neighbours of Friday. First time I've put drowning on the Risk assessment
  13. If it's on a building site, you will find a Diet Coke bottle in every hole you dig
  14. Try to find Royal Navy goretex gear.
  15. Like so many things, it's better by hand
  16. It can be hard work, but then so is brash-dragging. Sure you will do well, and keeping my fingers crossed for you
  17. Getting blowy here in Essex. Already have a hung up tree to do tomorrow with Spike
  18. Probably not, because the whole point of that job was a lot of people would look at what was required and think "That looks simple, even I could do that". If something technical was required, it would show the skill of the job and it wouldn't be such a good story.
  19. Welcome mate. I started this in earnest earlier this year at age 39 and I love it too.
  20. Unfortunately, you can always be sued for lots of things, especially since the advent of Conditional Fee Arrangements, more commonly known as "No win, no fee". In these cases, if you are sued and lose in court, you could end up paying not only the costs of the person suing you, but also the "bonus" agreed by their legal team, which could be twice their original fee.
  21. I wonder which is cheapest, a payout to a qualified professional to remove the tree or the personal injury payout to either the unqualified person recommended by a broker when they injure themself or worse, an innocent bystander?
