    Sad day

I reckon Meg lived a glorious life - if all too short. She lived exactly the way a working dog should - things to do, people to look after. If we had a chance to serve our purpose to the extent that Meg probably served hers, we would jump at the chance! Sorry to hear of the loss, but heartened to know of a dog that lead a proper life. 2. If you look closely, you'll notice that the 2 and 0s are in a different place.
  3. John, what do you mean by 'pipe length'?
  4. Hama, what you're experiencing now at the moment with Doug Blease IS part of that competition that some crave. Competition in business comes in many forms I think. Inspection report templates could be regarded as financially sensitive material. On a more optimistic note, How is your studying going? The last we heard, you were still at the 'finding your feet' stage.
  5. Ahh. Clever......very clever. That had never actually occured to me.
  6. I used to use the very same set-up with my big-shot but I found two problems with it. 1. The strap of the pouch would snag on the eye of the quick-release snaplink. 2. The lateral pull on the release pin of the snaplink would sometimes cause the over-all aim of the bigshot to be less than accurate. I went back to just pull, aim and let go.
  7. ESS Advancer goggles {from Ebay} Army issue. desert tested. adjustable ventilation. balistic standard.
  8. Go to You Tube and search for ' Hitch climber set up'. Extend your search from there. Good luck.
  9. Do the images need species IDs attached - or will a big clever person sort out the details?
  10. You are correct, Hama, about the dedicated design of the EF-S cameras - but the lens (even the EF-S ones) is still labelled in the 'traditional' form ie. for 35mm or fill sized sensors.
  11. It's also worth remembering, Dean, that the sensor on your 40D increases a lens' range by a factor of 1.6. So a 28mm-135mm lens will perform like a 45-216mm lens. You loose on the wide angle and gain on the telephoto.
  12. And how much money are you willing to spend?
  13. Stevie, I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments BUT I think that from around 3pm onward today, theremay be some (southerly) colleagues whose stress levels may reach new heights! All the best for today lads.
  14. Parklawn Tree Services? They're a Roscommon company, aren't they? How far into the north-west are you, Rowan Lee?
  15. Old ropes can be more difficult to work with, Rob.
  16. You should consider ESS Advancer goggles. They're used by troops in dessert campaigns. Adjustable ventilation, three interchangable lens colours. Made with ballistic polycarbonate. Less than £20 on Ebay.
  17. I've been taking part in the Breeding Bird Survey for about 11 years now. I've been surveying the same three X 1km squares on moorland / woodland near my home. I also take part in the breeding seabird surveys on the north Irish coast and some general habitat surveys in Donegal which feed data into the Corncrake surveys.
  18. Can either of you two explain how a company incorporates inclusionality to its environmental program? I ask in honest ignorance.
  19. Not quite an answer, David. But I carry out a few bird surveys each year for the BTO. The fluctuations of some species is dramatic and, although we don't have nuthatches in Ireland, I know what you mean about missing birds that were once common. Have you considered taking part in the surveys yourself?
  20. Nice images, John. Leaving the technicalities aside, I'd offer comments on the composition. 1. Leave more 'space' in front of the riders - allowing them to move forward into it - and less space behind them. 2. On some shots, frame extra space above or to the side of the subject. This space is best if it is fairly mundane. This is very useful when selling the image as a front cover ( room for a title ) - or even offering it as a local bike club news letter. It's always good to view your images, thanks again. Dee
  21. What about marking the gate-end that opens with tape? (If that's what you were asking.)
  22. You might consider getting a set of close-up lens (supplementary lens) for your lens. Each is a screw-on 'addition' to your own lens. They're available in different strengths and if you're experimenting without a big budget - they might be worth a look. Dee
  23. What lens are you currently using on your EOS camera?
  24. Hi Otter, do you still have those side straps on offer? If they're what I'm thinking of, I might be interested.

    Let me know.

    Dee.

  25. I'm not sure about that. If landowners (garden ownwers) had no obligation to keep their property safe, then you - as a neighbour with children possibly - would have to rely on their sense of fairness, without any support from the law. And if people were not too concerned about managing their trees, would we be doing what we do?
