  2. My misses gets it too, what about them pics, infact that makes her out to be a porker, forget i mentioned it lol
  3. Fairplay, not a lot wrong with that, id have just lifted it, but the spec is the spec
  4. You got any pics. pmsl. ewwww
  5. Nowt wrong with the brava, as long as its the isuzu engine pmsl and you can weld.
  6. That was the same principle my foresty nd arb teacher taught me, no matter what leave your wood ( worksite ) tidy, To sustain a premium service you have to be anal with your clean up, If i dont get told, it is cleaner than when you got here, i get twitchy, and start picking leaves up as i walk out the garden, but thats the joys of being climber owner and on every job, job is done till i know that i shouldnt have a problem getting paid
  7. Matty f, do you use the stihl ultra oil mix, its specifically designed for the type of engine setup in the 130, my 130 used to splutter and spit, but now runs sweet

    arb work

Have you contactedrichardson tree services arboriculture, im sure they are down that way, he just bought new wagon so may be doing two gangs
  9. You obviously hung the wedge in front of them at the right time, as long as they know that if they need to back off they can for a breather, then the work will continue to be done to a goodstandard, Without being rude, do you strive to do the job to the best of your ability, or do you find yourself having to make the odd cut of a corner like?
  10. Its the at all costs you will have us to do your tree work mentality that people like, people warm to the blimey hes a grafter appearance. shows pride and willingness to work on most occasions.
  11. Your lads are obviously af an agric nature, brought up on good work ethics, my oldman was coal man, and did turfing inthe summer, I was always out with him, when I get my act together can do a good fortnight of solid graft, but I do have to get my family fix, gf doesnt like me taking the kids out qouting or running erands ort logs, but they will if they want pocket money, and when they want to go to glastonbury in 10-17 years they will have the dolars saved, fairplay, I knowa farmer/fencer with your mentality, got new l200 and range rover sport, people sometimes comment on asian people only having what they got because they dont drink, nah, they work hard and work together, a trait that is being lost within our ways of living
  12. Thats exactly the same experience i have, people see it as a keeness to do the work, and the professional appearance of the company is further strengthened when you say i cant come for x amount of weeks, professional company, got steady flow of work, and operating effectively and productively, good business mang imho, although I never go below nor match a qoute, my work is worth every penny, i reduce but dont match. but bend over backwards to ensure that they feel that the little extra is worthy, people love a good haggle.
  13. Know any breakers or got one in your scrap pile, danke.
  14. Id be thinking thats a ''bit'' naughty, but thats only as a parent, but if it wasnt a regular thing id let it go, did it keep the child awake or did she nod off, my gf has pulled up at a job before with the chipper blaring and it didnt even stir the nipper. Often children react to our grievances in situations, and will play on it, If you were bounding round the house, likelihood being you were making more noise.lol. But to be fair, nice sunny day, cracking on with making his garden nice for himself and family, probably in work today was trying to break the back of it. I wouldnt get to het up about it, treat people as you expect to be treated yourself, and dont lower yourself to their slightly inconsiderate nature.# Have a magners
  15. As the thread says, looking to get hold of a entec 30dh 1995 flywheel, not that many machines about and company do not make the part anymore, so im seeking help from the fine community that is arboriculture. Does anyone know any arb equip breakers, ''now theres a business idea for someone'' Especially with the space to do it, Steve Blair!!!! From what I can gather it is different from the 1997 machines, so pics of anything helpful would be of much benefit, so I can forward to Keith Irvine Plant for the thumbs up on it, and its suitability. Any help greatful Cheers
  16. Whats the cost to do a bacs payment then, and how long does it take to clear, I Iknow its common place these days, i do prefer cheques tbh, as I know that its in my hands to get it cleared as and when I bank it. Hate thought of chasing people for money, vile situation. And would be ringing to say you done that bacs yet or what. All my invoicing is done on my business qoute sheet but is a carbon copy, so is issued as we leave site, therefore prompting immediate payment.
  17. I set up a ''pay a friend'' type thing with hsbc whenever i want to pay someone, but it needs their sortcode and account number, normally in their bank in 15 mins, probaly the same as your setup rupe. So the general census at the early stage is that its not that good an idea just yet, I shall wait a few more days before reporting back to them with your opinions. Thanks for the feedback lads, these are the sort of topics that the AA's arborist working group are trying to look at, and hopefully do the hard work for you. If anyone is interested in this setup let me know and ill try and get further info from the AA.
  18. What will be your method of payment for customers after the phasing out of cheques and cheque guarantee cards. How efficient is internet banking etc, I was thinking I'll just request cash, however a lot of my customers when I have recently asked about this have said that cash is becoming a bit of a pain to get now, especialally as the cost of things have gone up,and you can only get 300 out the machines, having to do two trips etc, seems people do not have time to go the bank these days, I personally do not like the stigma associated with cash payment, as people think you do not bank it and therefore you are not trading effically, also they expect a discount. I have been contacted by AA to ask if it would be of interest to the industry if a streamline scheme was set up. The cost of the streamline terminal is £300, which is non-returnable, but may be sellable back to the company. The monthly subscription is £30 for the sim, which can be returned at any point, free of charge. Every transaction made costs the company 30p, payment will be in company bank within 3 working days. I personally am not impressed by the prices, but is this the going rate or a good price etc, was wondering what you will all be looking at getting put in place to deal with this issue. Is this a viable option that the AA should do some work on to get the best system for mobile workers. Cheers Jaime

  20. exact thing has just happened to me, didnt think was funny, It cost me 500 quid, whole new back end re-build
  21. I was reading some info at the show about the AA amenity conference this september, and then dropped in on a conversation later that day, with regards to one of the new aspects this year at the conf. Simon of beechwood trees 'bbb' will be putting on a demo of arb on the sunday at the conf, From what I could workout from the info I read, people can pay to go to just certain days of the conf, and this is one day that I will certainly be trying to get to, im not sure as to what stage the planning is of the event, and the particulars, but im sure that Simon will keep us all up to date on the developments, and Paul will inform us on how we get on it, sounded like a good day was being planned. Fairplay!!!!
  22. Steve What price is the hotel, may consider that as well, And what distance from showground etc, I cant be bothered to go up in loft, its an 8 man tent, Sod that, Thanks jaime
  23. On the cover....... of a magazine....... Vogue:crazy: vogue :crazy:vouge:elefant: vogue
  24. Tom d Very good point, and if paul hadnt had mentioned this thread it wouldnt have got thought about im sure, Im not sure how much having national recognition on the web would cost, or the principles involved in making that possible. I.T. is not my domain, im sure in due course we'll find out the answer to that question,
  25. Afternoon all, I posted a thread in here in february, The main krux of it was to make arbtalk members aware of a group that I had been asked to chair, the Arborists Working Group, AWG. The group consists of a range of arborists/contractors all commited to taking our industry forwards. Since that date, the AA have shown strong support of the group, inparticular with regards to a vision of the group, to get something put in place for the Arbfair. As such we will have some literature available at the arbfair, that will briefly highlight what it is that we are trying to do. It is undecided yet how we will setup for the show, but one thing that is certain, we need your input. If you do see us hanging around at the show, please feel free to come over and have a chat, share the problems that you have encountered in your working lives, and give us some topics to work through over the coming months. Please also feel free to come over and either compliment the work of the AA or criticise it, we are hoping that this will be a good opportunity for the industry to voice its concerns through a direct action group (awg) so as to try and make efforts to put things right for future progression, All comments are welcome. Sorry for any thread derail Paul. Thanks Jaime Bray P.S. Apologies if I do not respond to any questions quickly, Im currently revising for exams next week. cheers.
