  1. fill your boots then mate, either way your not doing the face of the business down, both would show well out the front of clients house, but do watch that ladder bar, mine does my head-in
  2. theocus cant really tell from the pics but isuzu looks a bit shorter on the side height than the daily, if so be wary of where you put your rear ladder strut bar, the chips start hitting it it will proper do your head in, as they fly every where, honest opinion stick with the daily, tis a nice truck, and you be amazed the amount of regular domestic customers you may lose from buying shiny new, although you will get those that prefer such companies with spangly gear, but id say nowt wrong with your daily tbh,
  3. hama its far to late for both you and i clearly, as i just read whole thread and was about to respond when double checked dates of it all, hes already passed the darn assignment lol, be nice if icould pass something soon haha, wind is all thats passable on this pd arb game.
  4. anyone go to this, i went barchams seminar instead but was wondering if any notes been e-mailed over to the the attendees thanks
  5. i saw that p100 going down m6 the other day, wondered where it was off. them sort of things are proper retro cool... when you put stupid engines in old cars its classic big boys toys, mate runs a mark 1 golf with a audi tt 3.2 quattro engine in. im not clued up on such stuff but im guessing it shifts as he struggles to not spin wheels in fourth gear at santa pod, fairplay
  6. if you do buy surplus kit, log it in your equipment kit log when purchased and then date when it gets put into use, that way you can justify its low usage and satisfy the loler inspector that the kit is x amount of years old but only been used for said period, a article i read a while back on rope longevity showed that a rope that had not been used nor been left in sunlight i.e stored correctly, lost up to 40 % of its strength over 12 month period, without any use what so ever, sobering thought really
  7. never mind how much chip you'll get in it si, whats more worrying is your staff following your lead and driving down remote dead ends, THE OTHER SIDE TO YOUR YARD BTW what have you been teaching these young town lads about the rules of the countryside, i know you started off in business dumping rubbish in country lanes but you shouldnt be getting the lads to do it, tut tut. lol lol nice van that btw fast as!
  8. tavistock saws do some fingerless gloves with a double wrist wrap, apparently the wrap being tight forces blood with more pressure up to the tips of the bell ringers as the vibrations are what detract it from that area causing pins and needles, and they have anti v gel through palm up to finger section £20 used purely for machinary, blowing saw polepruning, very good highly recommend them, made by sheik or shlek
  9. lol you again, is there owt you dont think of
  10. how effective would planting around base of tree and drip line with wild garlic be, would it get absorbed????
  11. did it last year at syston once a fortnight, however westonbirt runs weekly i think, and the surroundings mean that you get to try a more practical side to bs5837, it certainly seemed that the lads that did westonbirt had a better concept of certain things, and the cost is the same regardless of where you do it, but more importantly you double your time with the teaching staff, good course though, ill be honest and say that i didnt give it my all and averaged about 5 hours a week study time, still passed but to get best value out of it you just have to make time, and running business two kids blah blah motivation was lacking, however passed the lot first time and feel more focused on things,
  12. lol im not used to this yet, the derail seems to be a common error of mine, lol, i think ill return to not registering and just reading,
  13. i remember readind a post of yours that said spend to much time in arbtalk doing stuff, i have to say i am beginning to get that way and neglecting prof dip, sometimes you get a good thread thats relevant, other times you get people regurgitating what they get told by peers, lol, (cowers with tail between legs)
  14. do you not struggle to get people to take the chippings off you, ive been broaching the would you like the chippings question if i can get them in your back garden for last few weeks since being on arbtalk, and i get a lol no thanx mate reply, i use the recycle ploy but nah not into it down here
  15. consulting it is then hama
  16. lol did you know that would be a struggle, 3.7.8 comes close but falls short tbh, are you a judge for it or something, lol
  17. ive asked him to confirm all his info that he gave me, and hes going to supply all tomorrow, i never questioned him because hes pretty well clued up, just took as said, is there a rule book for comps that could be referred to
  18. i know thats what i thought, branch walking with 2 systems in comps lol let alone normal day to day
  19. two anchor rope lines and lanyard for when you re-adjust a main system that way connected two systems all times, do-able and he reckons always climbs that way it was just relly awkward,he said system example works best in broad open tree, ill get him to find the exact paragraphs that enabled him to that interpretation, pm you tomorrow,
  20. loler inspector was grilling us about it at treelife, however if site specific ra highlights increased risk as result of continual anchoring in 2 systems then its permissable, its a right nitemare to climb, and my additional comments box will be getting filled every time the harness goes on, wink wink
  21. wah regs, think comes from schedules of systems 4 or 5, continually connected to back up line or something interpretted as two systems at all times, i.e needing three lines/systems, in comps you get marked down heavily if you are roped in at any time by 1 system
  22. to be fair it was related to a particular task that was not a regular occurence, cant remember what it was but i remember thinking as i ticked the boxes and then just double checked the generic for what was required to reduce the risk, thinking ooh thats not up to scratch and winced as i signed it off, will have to have butchers at it tomorrow
  23. H&S is good if used logically, it focuses the company and adds professionalism and i guess incorporates pride, but the danger the industry has and this really is where the aa come in is in the implementation of requirements, i climbed on friday and ensured that at every point during the climb i was roped in to 2 systems, this means climbing with effectively three systems, it was a ball-ache but i wanted to see how do-able it was, i use supp points but 2 systems actually distracted from the danger of the thing revving away in front of my face, not implementable in my opinion to be cost effectively accepted by companies,
  24. just read your post, im not a rapido typer
  25. did you adjust the generic to suit though, i understood it that as you tick the box in refernce to any given generic you should operate and conform to that particular measure, i sometimes wince when ire-read the generic to any given cbox, are you saying that by ammending the additional comments sect that you acknowledge non-compliance with generic and give reason why on each particular case, dont get me wrong im all for every company to be made to comply with risk assessment then they wouldnt be able to operate so cheaply, but thats what i say when i refer to cost benefit analysis of operating that way,
