  1. I have an 038 and an 039 the 038 never comes out. The 039 feels better and even that is 14 years old.
  2. Boulters of tadley built mine. They do more 38 tonne type stuff. Very well made just watch the weight does not cut into payload.
  3. I think you have it spot on. I seem to meet alot of people who owe 6k to the tax man and think buying processor for 6k will get rid of the tax bill. I think commercial vehicles could be on the same deal but not cars.
  4. If you explain to your accountant you do your own book keeping you should be able to negotiate a lower rate. Most accountants charge for their time if your books are a mess it will take longer.
  5. You still have to pay for 75% of it or 60% if your doing really well
  6. It says 160-200mm I am not sure if that means you can adjust it or the chute is 200mm wide. If the chute is 200mm I would imagine 160mm would turn and jam more often. Major has one of these machines so perhaps he would be kind enough to give us the heads up. I have no connection with fuelwood or Posch just need the best machine for the job. Proof is in the pudding as they say maybe I need to get my hands on one.
  7. The single phase kindlet is 160mm . I just read on the Posch site it can take 200mm.
  8. I am sure they have improved I saw one of the first ones about 5 years ago and you could not get in the top. If you got a knotty bit you had to keep going and that seemed to wreck lots more decent wood. Hopefully I will see the latest one at a show this year. What do you call the right wood.
  9. We have a kindlet does the posch make bags like this and can you reject the knots if they get jammed with out wrecking a load more wood.
  10. sounds like it needs a repair rather than a design fault. Ours is old but still seems to spit everything through even when using the chipper and shredder together.
  11. I have heard of mac gen. There is some good knowledge around your part of the world due to FG Wilson turning out the apprentices. I have a 110 kva coming out shortly due to burnt out alternator. Sounds bad but you could spend 10k and have the same thing next day. It is approx 20 years old caterpillar ( re badged fg wilson ) it will make 3k at auction and needs 2k spent on new alternator. Has perkins phaser engine which I dont think has done mega hrs and you know the alternator is good for years especially if you keep the dirt and damp out.
  12. If you win the pools I can sell you one of these 110 kva
  13. Avoid stuff like this
  14. Look for stuff like this
  15. I think there is a good market for low tech well made 20 year old sets in Africa with no electronics. That leaves the really old over made heavy on fuel stuff or need a laptop to start it stuff. Dont bother looking on ebay especially now you can advertise for twice the value 20 items a month with no reserve fee set up. Any Alternator made before 1973 or not modern standard we dont bother to visit. So avoid the big seperately excited dinasaurs. The control panels are less of a problem its fairly straight forward to put a basic key start module on any set with protections for low oil and over temp. We sell new kit as its good value for money compared with second hand value plus thousands when it throws a shoe. Keep it under 25 years and you are in with a chance if it breaks. Budget to spend at least 6k and it will be worth the same in a few years or u will buy junk and throw a few more thousand at it and it will still be worthless.
  16. I would imagine the crankshaft would do the most damage.
  17. Locomotors used to have two lads virtually full time in the factory from drum they used to pack the ford cargos with winches and kit for Bt I bet there is a few of these vehicles rotting somewhere full of goodies.
  18. Only ever worked on one about 20 years ago. I would say well made and too expensive in their day for standby use. Built for high hours in the back of buses and coaches. Good engine but very old now if you get a good one should be plenty of mechanics who can work on them.
  19. As said above If you only have access for 8 wheeler then 2.4 best. If you need to pick off the floor to load processor then 2.4 is doable. 3 metre is hard work unless you have a log deck.
  20. I think I would buy some carrots.
  21. I had one that went up 27ft and that frightened me.
  22. If it struggles a bit in high = 3500kg If it only tows in low box = 5000kg +
  23. You could plate it down. ally plate 2000kg gross rivet to chassis. I dont think the tt85 is much lighter than the tt105. If you dont need a narrow trailer the 105 has better tyres lower load deck and more stable as its wider.
  24. I have the same headboard on mine and it looks fine in the flesh its a thick well galvanised effort. We have a 16ft flat bed with full mesh kit. Monster of a trailer thing I like best is centre of gravity is much lower than the ifor which also makes it easier to step of all day. Very versatile car boots, generator movements, kindling wood collections.
  25. Looks a great trailer. To the top of the lower sides is 2 cu metres so you have just over 6 cu metres of space so you should be able to work out the weight of chip. You can carry around 2.25 tonnes on that trailer with high sides fitted. 2 tonnes of sand is a little pile in the middle of the trailer. Watch you dont go over weight big time as it will wear the linnings and hitch and probably the rear end of your truck. We have the same trailer and loaded with logs to the top of the lower sides it comes in at 3500kg
