  1. Yep there is that depends what gear you can get in make sure you get it on film
  2. If your gunna get a crane in you might aswell leave as bigger stem as you can get away with as you will be picking off bigger sections with a crane than you would lower and bigger sections get shifted quicker with the right lorry
  3. The only big wellie ive done i did as you said rigged all the brash and timber leaving a 70ft stem which i got down in a couple of hours with a crane. The timber got picked up by peter with his hiab lorry in 2 loads i wouldnt hand ball it its heavy old stuff!!
  4. Dont let mark hog all the attention with your selfies!
  5. Thank you, im lucky it was a small tree, other people on here get much worse and tighter jobs than this one. Im sure if you thought about it youd work it out if you were in the situation
  6. Game of thrones eh make sure you take a pack of tisues with you ive always been one for a krab on the end so much easier frowned on but i cant see a problem with it for light rigging.
  7. Thats just grease and sweat doing that
  8. No worries mate hopefully you get it sorted easily enough. The hammers are doing alright so far and with there new signings they will be alright. Ready for the new stadium and big push back into one of he big clubs!
  9. Plus previously topped hard so many many skinny stems with a little brush ontop and it was for a landlord but luckily these tenants were lovely and highly delighted.
  10. Couple of jobs from recent weeks nothing amazing the sycamore was quite a tight arkward one to get the timber down
  11. I set ours to a couple of sheets of paper distance from the flywheel. That could well be your problem.
  12. I remember the old one we had the no stress used to not work if the battery was weak. On our new 125's one of them the no stress didnt work it was the electric sensor in where the drive belts are it has slipped in its mounting it has to be the right distacnce from the drive wheel to work. Failing that i would just check all the electric conections are good. Also the relays on the plastic black cover in the little box can go which stops the no stress working properly.
  13. Sounds more electrical to me if it all works well with smaller stuff, is the no stress working well with the sub 3inch stuff?
  14. So many little tricks to doing the bar and chain
  15. Not one yet, straight out of college I felled a top out a ivy invested oak which caught on the ivy and caught the line but it didn't break they can take a good hammering before they break!
  16. I'd market yourself with climbing and tipper truck i used to do that theres a good market for that. a chipper is a waste of time unless you can afford it and the big idea is to get to the point where your running your own company.
  17. Should be a drain plug on the bottom and half way up is the fill plug there is the same on the transfer case behind the gearbox also if it's the same as my vitara just make sure you can undo them all before you do anything. It's a very simple job and access is good.
  18. He edits all that out. You should have seen the other side he butchered all the branches back to the main stem!!
  19. You could have at least edited it a tiny bit though mate, it only took you the length of that vid to do the whole tree! The footage from the beech any good?
  20. I think alot of people dont even think it check let alone change hydraulic fluid in a chipper. Sort of dont no why i bother so much as they get replaced with new every 5yrs anyway. Unless you have a leak in it, your unlikely to overheat it in the UK so the system would work for its whole life time really after the first change from new.
  21. We have 2 TW125s both from brand new 2/3yrs old now, i look after them better than the service intervals they provide. For a few quid for extra oil and filters its not worth not doing it in my eyes. They our out working hard day in day out without them we would be in trouble. Got to look after the tools that earn you money.
  22. The chipping is what slowed us down with our tiny chipper. You raise a good point with the lowering line, in the flesh i was 100% it would catch in the crotch if i was in any dout i would have quickly just stuck a redirect pulley in. Couple of hours this morning lowering the stem height till we could fell it onto some old tyres cut up into 12inch rings for them to be picked up by a front loader. All ready for stump grinding now.
  23. Wasnt to bad joe just the gates to miss really, had to lower it all to save the lawn but took me 4hours climbing to strip it to the bare pole ready to go back today to lower the stem and then fell the rest. Theres always bits that could be let run but not with my groundies im affraid!!
  24. today we did a tree thats been on the cards for a few years now stood dead for 2-3 years they were hoping it would spring back into life but no surprise to us it hasn't so out it comes.
  25. Lots of little branches littering the roads, also had this conifer shed a stem half into a mill pond, back next week to dismantle the rest.
